Background The TyG index, or triglyceride-glucose is primarily used as a marker to assess insulin resistance and metabolic health. It increases mortality risk in patients with NAFLD, atherosclerosis, ischemic stroke, heart failure. However, its association Carotid Atherosclerosis (CAS) NAFLD remains uncertain. Methods This retrospective cohort study enrolled 739 individuals who participated comprehensive health evaluations at large public hospital Yangzhou, China, between January 2021 December 2023. Among them, 436 were men 303 women, their mean (SD) age was 51.53 ± 11.46 years. categorized into three tertiles (Q1, Q2, Q3), according the baseline index. Our investigation focused on exploring correlativity occurrence of CAS utilizing Cox regression RCS analyses. Results During 3-year follow-up period, 199 developed (cumulative incidence rate: 26.93%). A statistical model, adjusted for age, gender, BMI, other confounders indicated that HR (95%CI) values Q2 Q3 groups 3.11(1.87-5.17) 4.51(2.69-7.56), respectively, P-values <0.001 both groups. sensitivity analysis confirmed these results. Kaplan–Meier survival revealed varied across ( P non-linear < 0.05). Conclusion In diagnosed possibility escalates elevation value. Therefore, index an effective assessing within this demographic. Large-sample prospective studies are needed confirm conclusion future.

Background: The triglyceride-glucose (TyG) index is a marker of insulin resistance and associated with cardiovascular mortality morbidity. Left ventricular remodeling (LVR) after myocardial infarction (STEMI) poor prognosis. Methods: This retrospective study included 293 STEMI patients. Echocardiography was performed before discharge 3 months MI. Results: Compared the non-LVR group, TyG value found to be higher in LVR group (p < 0.001). Logistic regression analysis showed that maximal troponin I value, calculated N-terminal prohormone brain natriuretic peptide level presence anterior MI were independently development LVR. Conclusion: A high may contribute prediction nondiabetic patients undergoing successful primary percutaneous coronary intervention.

The association between the triglyceride-glucose (Tyg) index and coronary plaque in patients with heart disease remains unclear. This study aimed to investigate relationship Tyg under different levels of blood glucose metabolism. retrospective included artery who underwent angiography OCT January 1, 2023 2024, ultimately collected 232 plaques. All were grouped according median (T1 group 7.71 ≤ TyG 9.13; T2 9.14 10.99). thickness fiber cap was measured OCT, plaques divided into vulnerable non-vulnerable plaque. status metabolism is non-diabetic diabetic. Baseline data analysis showed that there significant differences clinical biological characteristics T1 groups (P < .05). Logistic regression significantly associated compared (odds ratio [OR]: 2.638; 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.548-4.494; P .001). OR 2.175 (95% CI 1.409-3.357; Receiver operating characteristic area ROC curve (AUC) 0.727 0.663-0.792; .001), best cutoff value 9.23, sensitivity 60%, specificity 81%. In diabetic patients, a statistically correlation (OR: 3.273; 1.240-8.636, Triglyceride good predictor
