Abstract
Background
Dementia
is
often
associated
with
Neuropsychiatric
Symptoms
(NPS)
such
as
agitation,
depression,
hallucinations,
anxiety,
that
can
cause
distress
for
the
resident
dementia
in
long-term
care
settings
and
impose
emotional
burden
on
environment.
NPS
are
treated
psychotropic
drugs,
which,
however,
frequently
side
effects.
Alternatively,
non-pharmacological
interventions
improve
well-being
maintain

optimal
quality
of
life
(QoL)

review
summarizes
findings

23
qualitative
articles
on
how
social
and
built
environments
contribute
to
the
well-being
of
people
with
dementia
who
live

thematic
