Although little is yet known about the long-term maintenance of very low-energy ketogenic therapy (VLEKT) effects on body composition, muscle strength and inflammation, it plausible to assume that changes may occur, particularly during steps following step, due loss protective ketones concomitant reintroduction carbohydrates. For this reason, present study aimed evaluate supplementation with 8 g per day essential amino acids (EAAs) these parameters. A total 68 women reproductive age grade I obesity who had completed 45 days phase VLEKT (KeNuT protocol) 40 non-ketogenic KeNuT protocol (phase 3, fruit reintroduction) were included in study. Half them (n = 34) followed first step re-educational EAAs (Aminotrofic®: 4 twice daily). Anthropometric parameters, composition via bioelectrical impedance analysis high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) levels assessed at baseline, pre- post both dietary interventions. At end (before EAA supplementation), two groups did not differ any parameters assessed. phase, supplemented group showed greater magnitudes reduction weight, waist circumference, fat mass (FM) hs-CRP (p < 0.001 for all) increase 0.001), angle cell (BCM) (%) 0.001). These results underline usefulness transitional improve (specifically FM BCM), strength, inflammatory status.

Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS), also known as acne inversa, is a chronic inflammatory skin disorder that primarily affects body folds and the genital area, with higher prevalence in women across Europe. The pathogenesis of HS involves complex interplay intrinsic extrinsic factors, including genetics, immunity, hormones, environmental influences. frequently associated variety comorbidities, such metabolic, endocrine, gastrointestinal conditions, well mental health disorders. Although symptoms are generally similar both men women, female patients may experience exacerbations due to hormonal fluctuations during menstruation, pregnancy, breastfeeding, menopause. These changes require special consideration by clinicians when managing women. Background and Objectives: Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) is a chronic inflammatory skin disease primarily affecting hair follicles, characterized by painful nodules, abscesses, sinus tract formation. Recent evidence suggests that weight management nutritional factors may influence HS symptoms. This cross-sectional case–control study aimed to assess the impact of body composition on severity. Materials Methods: We included 50 patients with matched controls comparable in mass index (BMI), sex, age. The data collected 3-day food records, frequency questionnaire, 24 h physical activity Mediterranean Diet Adherence Screener (MEDAS) scores, composition, anthropometric measurements. macronutrient micronutrient intake, as well dietary glycemic (GI), were analyzed. severity was assessed using Hurley staging system International Suppurativa Severity Score System (IHS4). Results: exhibited significantly lower adherence diet higher GI compared controls. Their intake also reduced, while consumption junk food, dairy products, nightshade vegetables more frequent. MEDAS scores levels negatively correlated IHS4 measurements, energy, protein, total fat, showed positive correlations. stage positively visceral fat. In multiple regression analysis, score emerged primary variable associated Conclusions: These findings suggest an increased diet, GI, maintaining ideal affect management. Long-term studies are warranted corroborate our findings.

Abstract: Inflammatory skin diseases impose a significant burden on patients and healthcare systems worldwide. Among these, hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) is particularly notable for its chronic recurrent nature. Recurrent nodules, abscesses, scarring in apocrine gland-rich areas characterize the disease, including groin, axillae, perianal regions. Despite considerable physical psychological impact, precise mechanisms driving HS remain elusive. Recent advancements understanding inflammatory processes involved have highlighted TNF-alpha, IL-1β, IL-17/IL-23 pathways, which play crucial roles initiating perpetuating disease. Moreover, specific microRNAs (miRNAs), such as miR-24-1-5p, miR146a-5p, mirR-26a-5p, miR-206, miR-338-3p, miR-338-5p, are these processes. Dysregulation of miRNAs contributes to aberrant cytokine expression persistent inflammation, foreseeably exacerbating disease progression. This narrative review hypothesizes that miRNA dysregulation triggers contributing HS's clinical manifestations We explore implicated miRNAs' potential biomarkers earlier detection novel therapeutic targets. Identifying offers new opportunities more accurate diagnosis, potentially allowing clinicians intervene before severe occur. Furthermore, strategies modulate could target pathways HS, leading personalized effective treatments. also discusses future research directions enhance management HS.
