Limbic encephalitis (LE) is a rare variant of autoimmune encephalitis. It often manifests with subacute neuropsychiatric symptoms agitation, delusions, variable seizure semiology, and short-term memory loss. Seronegative limbic can pose diagnostic conundrum owing to its inadequately understood pathophysiology. We report case young male manifestations agitations seizures. He was diagnosed seronegative (SNLE). Brain MRI demonstrated bilateral Claustrum sparing sign. An EEG showed continuous left-sided epileptiform discharges in periodic predominantly left middle temporal. Patient condition gradually improved pulsed methylprednisolone, intravenous immunoglobulins anti-seizure medications. remains one the least neuroanatomical structures. sign has been reported febrile infection-related epilepsy syndrome (FIRES), LE, refractory epilepsy. To best our knowledge, we first literature Encephalitis. Further experimental models researches are warranted better understand unique function claustrum unravel possible other attributable auto-antibodies, which could alter treatment prognosis.

The extent of changes in functional connectivity (FC) within networks as a common feature across hallucinogenic drug classes is under-explored. This work utilized fMRI to assess the dissociative hallucinogens Psilocybin, classical serotonergic psychedelic, and Salvinorin-A, kappa-opioid receptor (KOR) agonist, on resting-state FC nonhuman primates. We highlight overlapping differing influence these substances relative thalamus, claustrum, prefrontal cortex (PFC), default mode network (DMN), DMN subcomponents. Analysis was conducted within-subject basis. Findings support cortico-claustro-cortical model for probing effects regardless potential, with potential key paradigm centered around PFC, anterior cingulate cortices (ACC), angular gyrus relationship. Thalamo-cortical are implicated but appear dependent 5-HT2AR activation. Acute desynchronization both drugs also shown. Our findings provide framework understand broader mechanisms at which may impact subjects target receptor.

The claustrum is a sheet-like of telencephalic gray matter structure whose function poorly understood. considered multimodal computing network due to its reciprocal connections with almost all cortical areas as well subcortical structures. Although the has been involved in several neurodegenerative diseases, specific changes remain unclear Alzheimer's disease (AD), and Parkinson's (PD). Resting-state fMRI T1-weighted structural 3D images from healthy elderly (n = 15), AD 16), PD 12) subjects were analyzed. Seed-based FC analysis was performed using CONN toolbox analyzed Computational Anatomy Toolbox for voxel-based morphometry analysis. While we observed decreased between left sensorimotor cortex, auditory association regions associated social cognition compared control group (HC), no significant difference found alterations both comparing HC groups. In group, high cortex related cognitive control, including cingulate gyrus, supramarginal insular demonstrated. addition, results show significantly volume bilateral HC. There differences volumes groups so may offer more precise findings distinguishing PD.

Introduction: 7,8-dihydroxyflavone (7,8-DHF) is a low molecular weight compound that can cross the blood brain barrier and has been implicated in numerous functions behaviours. It thought to have neuroprotective capability shown alleviate symptoms wide range of diseases. Methods: 7,8-DHF was administered systemically wildtype mice during Morris water maze training. Long-term spatial memory assessed 28 days later. Ex-vivo T2-weighted (T2w) imaging undertaken on subset these assess brain-wide changes volume. Results: We found systemic administration training period enhanced Volumetric were observed regions associated with broad including cognition, sensory, motor processing. Discussion: Our findings give first whole overview long-term anatomical following providing valuable information for assessing understanding widespread effects this drug behaviour disease.
