differences
in

enroll

complete
a
STEM
degree
are
mediated
or
moderated
by
math-efficacy.
Utilizing
the
National
Education
Longitudinal
Study
(NELS)
data—a
nationally
representative
sample
of
U.S.
students—I
find
that
math-efficacy
mediates
11.78%
effect
enrollment
Physical-STEM
majors
10.19%
completion.
Higher
levels
associated
with
higher
probabilities
degrees.

ABSTRACT
This
study
examines
the
mathematics
self‐efficacy
of
833
high
school
students
from
four
Brazilian
public
schools.
Using
an
exploratory
cross‐sectional
design
with
a
mixed‐methods
approach,
completed
online
instruments
including
sociodemographic
questionnaire,
scales
measuring
various
domains
(mathematics,
self‐regulated
learning,
social
and
emotional)
open‐ended
questions
about
their
perceived
attributes
in
learning
mathematics.
Multiple
regression
analysis
revealed
that
student
characteristics
collectively
explained
47.4%
variance
self‐efficacy.
Qualitative
complex
nature
self‐efficacy,
emphasising
students'
perceptions
strengths
weaknesses
learning.
The
underscores
significant
influence
domains,
highlighting
importance
approaches
for
deeper
insights
guiding
future
educational
interventions.

Purpose
The
present
research
aims
to
examine
the
effect
of
parents,
teachers,
and
peers
on
university
students’
career
intentions
for
STEM
jobs
how
these
relationships
are
mediated
by
their
decision
self-efficacy
(CDSE).
Design/methodology/approach
Data
were
collected
using
standardised
questionnaires
administered
523
final-year
students
within
disciplines.
Partial
least
squares
path
modelling
(PLS-PM)
via
SmartPLS
3.0
was
used
analyse
data.
Findings
results
this
study
validate
assertions
social
cognitive
theory
(SCCT)
demonstrating
that
consistent
information
sharing
support
from
teachers
significantly
influence
in
fields.
Furthermore,
is
CDSE.
Practical
implications
findings
offer
practical
insights
education
policymakers
human
resource
development
practitioners
while
also
providing
valuable
direction
future
development.
Originality/value
This
has
contributed
literature

Choosing
the
right
senior
high
school
track
and
strand
is
a
crucial
decision
for
Grade
10
students,
as
it
significantly
impacts
their
future
academic
career
paths.
This
study
aimed
to
identify
factors
influencing
preferences
among
students
in
Pamplona
Cluster
III
develop
guidance
program
based
on
findings.
Using
descriptive-correlational
research
design,
data
were
collected
from
155
through
self-designed
questionnaire
analyzed
using
statistical
tools
such
percentage,
frequency,
weighted
mean,
chi-square.
The
results
indicate
that
most
respondents
are
14-15
years
old,
female,
families
with
low
monthly
income.
Students’
primarily
influenced
by
aspirations
interests,
followed
self-efficacy
beliefs
related
performance
perceived
outcome
expectations
family
influence,
peer
job
opportunities,
offerings.
While
consider
employability
availability,
primary
motivation
aligning
chosen
goals.
Notably,
demographic
age,
sex,
household
income
do
not
impact
preferences.
Based
these
findings,
proposes
"Project
CAREER,"
structured
designed
help
make
informed
decisions
about
recommends
adoption
of
this
initiative
schools,

division
level

policies

decision-making.

Abstract
There
has
been
a
sustained
interest
in
student
perceptions
about
STEM
fields
and
their
choice
of
careers
over
the
past
few
decades.
Research
shown
that
there
is
decline
students
pursuing
careers,
this
raised
global
concern.
Despite
these
issues,
no
unistructural,
broad,
parsimonious
unambiguous
quantitative
instrument
exists
to
probe
career
aspirations.
This
paper
highlights
background,
extension
validation

instrument,
derived
from
previous
science-focussed
high-quality

quantitatively
characterised.
Participants

1221
undergraduate
students,

judged
have
