The use of powerful numerical methods to study the optical properties metasurfaces has led an obvious need for development analytical models that provide meaningful physical analysis results. In this paper, we present a general approach electromagnetic resonances in consisting meta-atoms with anisotropic dipole polarizabilities and irradiated light under arbitrary angle incidence. presented allows us clearly trace explain features coupling between electric magnetic moments as well identify role such coupling. For these purposes, dependence lattice sums on incidence is also presented. The recently emerged Mie resonant meta photonics (or Mietronics) provides novel opportunities for subwavelength optics. Mietronics employs resonances in isolated nanoparticles and structured surfaces. We present a brief summary of the key concepts underpinning this rapidly developing area research, using high-index dielectric particles as examples. also discuss recent advances future trends designs high-Q elements efficient spatial temporal control light.

This work reports on a metasurface based optical nanoantennas made of van der Waals material hexagonal boron nitride. The nanoantenna hyperbolic was shown to support strong localized resonant modes stemming from the propagating high-k waves in material. An analytical approach used determine mode profile and type cuboid resonances. electric quadrupolar demonstrated be associated with magnetic response nanoantenna, which resembles induction high-refractive-index nanoantennas. model accurately predicts due boundary reflections waves, capability that does not extend plasmonic or nanoantennas, where imperfect reflection leakage cavity complicate analysis. In reported metasurface, excitations multipolar are accompanied by directional scattering decrease reflectance zero, is manifested as Kerker effect. Van envisioned resonances can become an important functional element metasurfaces transdimensional photonic components. By designing efficient subwavelength scatterers high-quality-factor resonances, this demonstrates naturally occurring viable substitute for all-dielectric developing ultra-compact

Nanoscale manipulation of optical fields, particularly for achieving unidirectional scattering, is crucial the advancement photonic technologies. Traditional approaches to scattering involving vector beams and metallic structures have largely relied on multimers interactions between electric dipoles. Here, we introduce a theoretically novel method that leverages single Au V-shaped antenna azimuthally polarized beam achieve transverse predominantly governed by dipole-quadrupole interactions. This phenomenon preserved despite positional variations V-antenna within light field, with intensity distributions being highly position-dependent. Building these insights, developed composite system two oppositely oriented V-antennas, enabling displacement sensing over range 250 nm (∼0.38λ) in visible spectrum. work not only enhances capabilities nanoantennas but also introduces innovative strategies substantial measurement spectrum, underscoring significant potential diverse applications.
