Telephone-administered care, in particular, requires few resources and may be preferred communities areas that are systemically underserved. Understanding the effectiveness of audio-based is important combat current mental health crisis inform discussions related reimbursement privileges. Objectives: We compared usual for managing substance use disorders (MHSUD). Design: used systematic review methods synthesize available evidence. Studies: searched English-language articles reporting randomized controlled trials (RCTs) adults diagnosed with MHSUD published since 2012. Outcomes: abstracted data on clinical outcomes, patient-reported quality life, utilization, experience, patient safety. Results: included 31 RCTs participants depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), other serious illness (SMI), anxiety, insomnia, or (SUD). Most evidence was interventions targeting PTSD, SUD. The demonstrates promise for: (1) replacing in-person audio SMI, SUD (very low moderate certainty comparable effectiveness); (2) adding monitor treat (low favoring outcomes). Conclusions: managed certain situations. However, more needed across conditions, specifically anxiety conditions which no research identified.
