Background: Nitrate (NO3 ) is a necessary element for plant growth, but its excessive use in agricultural products causes different health problems. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between NO3 concentrations vegetables and prevalence of gastrointestinal cancers Minab city, Iran. Methods: case-control was conducted on 60 people with cancer as case group 120 healthy control city. Data were collected through questionnaire measuring concentration levels vegetables. All samples examined by reverse-phase HPLC (RP-HPLC) method. Results: The all ranged from 15.08 (onion) 1143.55 mg/kg (spinach). There no significant difference among regions. most common stomach (61.7%). amount daily intake , vegetables, groups (P<0.05). results showed that increasing consumption increases chance getting (OR: 5.72; P<0.001). Conclusion: According results, there studied areas. It highly recommended closely monitor cultivation, fertilization, spray process products, frequent monitoring fruits

Endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs) are a growing public health concern worldwide. Consumption of foodstuffs is currently thought to be one the principal exposure routes EDCs. However, alternative ways human through inhalation and dermal contact. These compounds in food products such as canned food, bottled water, dairy products, fish, meat, egg, vegetables ubiquitous general population. Therefore, understanding EDCs' properties, origin, exposure, toxicological impact, legal aspects vital control their release environment food. The present paper provides an overview EDCs possible disrupting impact on endocrine system other organs.

Maintaining the water quality is essential because of limitation drinking bodies and their significant effects on life. Recently, much scientific interest has been attracted to ecological condition assessment resources. Because numerous health issues connected quality, present work aimed define status Chahnimeh reservoirs, Sistan Baluchistan province, Iran via Water Quality Index (IRWQISC), National Sanitation Foundation (NSFWQI), human risk assessment. This cross-sectional descriptive was accomplished in 4 seasons 2020. The samples were gathered from 5 various points reservoirs. study led results that NSFWQI index between 29.4 49.32, which showed "bad" IRWQI 19.27 39.23, indicated "relatively bad" quality. best based both indexes observed spring, worst fall summer. highest value HQ related nitrate 1.60 group children. However, according Monte Carlo simulation, HQ95% estimated as 1.29. Sobol sensitivity analysis first-order effect daily water's ingestion rate (IR) most sensitive input. In addition, second-order interaction concentration-ingestion input parameter for HQ. Therefore, regular monitoring necessary ensure safety consumption.

Abstract The escalating concern over the presence and health implications of potentially toxic elements (PTEs) in drinking water has underscored need for rigorous risk assessments. Our study aimed to quantify both non-carcinogenic carcinogenic risks associated with exposure selected PTEs—namely arsenic (As), chromium (Cr), cadmium (Cd). Also, we evaluated ingestion skin contact exposures during summer winter using metrics such as hazard quotient (HQ), index (HI), cancer (CR) children, adult males, females. For all demographic groups pathways, HQ values remain below established safety threshold (HQ < 1). Notably, As consistently had highest average HI value across male adults, female adults. Seasonal variations were statistically significant ( p 0.05) Cr, but not Cd. During summer, total (TCR) from 7.61 × 10 –6 , 8.94 1.12 –5 respectively. In winter, these 1.18 1.40 1.75 fuzzy C-means clustering analysis provided insights into our dataset's Cd, distribution patterns. Results indicate that As, Cd mean concentrations World Health Organization health-based guidelines. CR children adults slightly above or US Environmental Protection Agency’s standards. These findings can inform research policy-making regarding PTEs highlight monitor Shiraz regularly.
