In most countries worldwide, hypertension (HTN) occupies a leading position in the structure of modifiable risk factors for cardiovascular diseases and their complications. One main reasons this trend is increasing prevalence obesity, which becoming an important factor high blood pressure (BP). The results numerous epidemiological studies showed association between obesity (assessed by body mass index (BMI)) BP levels, as well prognostic role BMI relation to development HTN. However, there currently no consensus on criterion that accurately predicts HTN associated Data from prospective observational greater value indirect direct indicators abdominal ectopic visceral adipose tissue. These facts stimulated research aimed at revealing pathophysiological mechanisms patients with overweight are reviewed article.
