Ship emissions significantly impact air quality, particularly in coastal and port regions, contributing to elevated concentrations of PM2.5, PM10, with varying effects observed across different locations. This study investigates the effectiveness emission control policies, inland port-specific contributions pollution, health risks posed by particulate matter (PM). A regression discontinuity model at Ningbo Port revealed that ship activities show moderate PM2.5 PM10 variations. In Busan Port, container ships accounted for majority emissions, social costs from pollutants estimated USD 31.55 million annually. Inland shipping near Yangtze River demonstrated significant PM contributions, emphasizing regional impacts. Health a major global toxic pollutant, were highlighted, links respiratory, cardiovascular, cognitive disorders. Advances purification technologies, including hybrid electrostatic filtration systems, have shown promising efficiency removing submicron particles gases, reducing energy costs. this paper, random forest machine learning developed predict post-cleaning robust performance (MAE = 0.49 P/cm3, R2 0.97). These findings underscore critical need stringent controls, innovative comprehensive monitoring mitigate environmental impacts emissions.

Artificial neural networks (ANNs) provide supervised learning via input pattern assessment and effective resource management, thereby improving energy efficiency predicting environmental fluctuations. The advanced technique of ANNs forecasts diesel engine emissions by collecting measurements during trial sessions. This study included experimental sessions to establish technical ecological indicators for a across several operational scenarios. VALLUM01, novel tool, has been created with user-friendly interface data input/output, intended the purposes testing prediction. There was comprehensive collection 12 parameters 10 output that were identified as relevant sufficient objectives training, validation, proper value ranges transforming into fuzzy sets input/output an ANN found. Given ANN’s training session comprises 1,000,000 epochs 1000 perceptrons within single-hidden layer, its effectiveness can be considered high. Many statistical distributions, including Pearson, Spearman, Kendall, validate prediction accuracy. accuracy from 96% on average, in some instances, it may go up 99%.

Emission statistics were obtained by computer simulations Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Cycle (WLTC) applied AVL CRUISE software. The presents method comparing pollutants emitted combustion engine when powered regular fuel with hydrogen. tests performed real conditions, presented shows amount vehicle is directly motion, which allows effective comparison different 95G5H2 sharply reduces CO-, CO2-, HC-specific emissions 22.19%, 14.55%, 35.46%, respectively, compared 100G. However, NOx-specific increased 20.17%, suggesting compromise between higher efficiency burning temperatures. performs better urban cycles, plenty acceleration deceleration, usually results incomplete combustion.
