A major issue with spark-ignition engines is their fuel inefficiency and negative environmental effects, especially in urban driving situations. This topic of utmost importance considering the increasing apprehension over contamination need for enhanced energy efficiency. The research’s originality resides its strategy to tackling this without necessitating intricate engine changes, a manner not commonly used. research uses dual that integrates both theoretical experimental approaches. component entails developing models forecast effects different cylinder deactivation strategies on consumption emissions. Important factors address model are introduction air into cylinders use stopping supply. involves conducting bench experiments modified verify conclusions. These tests assess performance metrics, such as economy effect, under load study’s findings encouraging. study reveals disabling specific group while permitting unrestricted intake might result significant improvements economy, anywhere from 1.5% 10.5%, depending engine’s workload. Bench testing revealed maximum improvement 10.8%, which demonstrates efficacy strategy. indicate integrated power regulation approach greatly improves efficiency decreases impact consequences engines, situations low idling. technology feasibility solution can be seamlessly incorporated current designs few adjustments, providing practical environmentally responsible option enhancing vehicle performance. results has wide-ranging potential automotive sector, particularly cars often function modest levels demand. By using approach, manufacturers may attain diminish emissions, contributing development more sustainable transportation options.

The article carries out a detailed analysis and evaluation of indicators related to the combustion process (pressure temperature in engine chamber, heat release rate, fraction) JCB 444 TA4i compression-ignition fuelled with diesel hydrogenated vegetable oil (HVO). During empirical tests, operation exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system was stopped no other changes were made settings (factory used). In first stage, tests carried at speed characteristics on an dynamometer. Then, experiment crankshaft corresponding maximum torque - which consisted determining constant mass flow fuel: HVO fuel. This provided information effect relation feed. conclusions drawn from study can be used develop guidelines change operating map when it is fed oil.

Published: Nov. 11, 2024

The article analyzes the impact of selected operational parameters internal combustion engine vehicles on CO2 emissions. study was preceded by a detailed analysis issues related to emissions in EU, with focus Poland, where tests were conducted. key scientific assumption is that individual vehicle users’ behaviors significantly global Daily use private vehicles, driving style, and attention fuel efficiency contribute cumulative effects can drive transformation toward more sustainable transport. Therefore, conducted using real-time empirical data obtained from vehicles’ OBD (On-Board Diagnostics) diagnostic systems. This approach enabled creation tool allowing each user assess ultimately manage its levels, which biggest innovation work. Two levels identified as categorical variables model, considered either ecological or non-ecological perspective emission threshold 200 g/km adopted based average age Poland (14.5 years) Regulation (EC) No 443/2009 European Parliament Council. Three models logistic regression dedicated different cycle phases—starting, urban driving, highway driving—were proposed compared. demonstrated during starting, most significant factors influencing probability are velocity, relative load, throttle position, while for other two types movement, power torque should also be considered. model start-up value sensitivity at about 82% precision 85%. In case values discussed reach higher around 96% 92%. turn, achieved highest among created models, 97% 93%.
