<p>The study is aimed at identifying the structure and content of elderly people's ideas about well-being. The involved 264 people aged 55 to 97 years (M = 69.54; SD 6.98). Data collection method: free association method in form simple limited associations. Participants were asked give associations word &ldquo;well-being&rdquo;. Nine received from each person, three verbs, adjectives, nouns. processing was carried out using frequency analysis, rank calculation, z-criterion calculation compare frequencies identified associative semantic groups. 2376 associates received, which most frequent ones identified; selection boundary 1% total number (24 units). combined into 21 Then groups (8) according principle enlargement. obtained results allow us say that well-being health with emotions calmness happiness. The article considers the problem of students' subjective well-being in educational environment university and mechanisms its maintenance. Subjective is considered as a state satisfaction individual with himself/herself, which he/she realizes well aspects his/her own life, based on existing ideas about internal external whole. study involved 86 first-year students Kostroma State University Moscow Linguistic (71 women, 15 men). diagnostic tools included author's questionnaire well-being, technique diagnosing (R.M. Shamionov, T.V. Beskov), for motivation (A.A. Rean V.A. Yakunin, modification N.Ts. Badmaeva). results showed that who took part have fairly high level well-being. most pronounced are value cognitive components reflect their formed orientations, worldview positions, presence institution ways self-realization university. Low indicators were identified respondents social-normative hedonistic largely due to pressure social norms low material security, makes it difficult meet emerging needs. BACKGROUND: In today's society, there is a need to explore strategies for attaining and improving overall well-being. This exploration requires an examination of perceptions well-being in different social groups. First second-year students higher education institutions represent the future capital nation.
