Consumer demand for more natural less processed recent years foods has increased. A new, opportunity emerged industry to replace artificial colorants with alternatives.In this context, obtaining pigments from purple-fleshed sweet potatoes presents viable option due their high anthocyanin content. Background ZhenzhuXiaoji Decoction (ZZXJD) is a traditional Chinese medicine formulation composed of five herbs: Ligustrum lucidum , Curcuma zedoaria Prunella vulgaris Hedyotis diffusa and Glycyrrhiza uralensis developed for the treatment hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Although early studies have demonstrated therapeutic potential ZZXJD, its safety profile, particularly regarding toxicity, remains underexplored. This study aims to evaluate both pharmacological effects toxicity ZZXJD in preclinical models determine clinical applicability. Study design Methods employed vitro vivo experiments assess ZZXJD. HHL-5 HEK-293 cell lines were treated with at varying concentrations (125, 250, 500, 1,000 μg/mL) 24, 48, 72 h on viability, apoptosis, necrosis.
