Introduction In today’s digital age, concerns about internet addiction among adolescents have escalated alongside the widespread use of internet. Simultaneously, research has spotlighted influence psychological factors like self-esteem and social anxiety on addictive behaviors. The aim this study was to verify hypothesis regarding as a mediator in association between addiction. Methods A total 10,158 participants were randomly selected from five vocational schools Anhui Province, China, with mean age 18.5 years. They completed series self-administered questionnaires, including Young Internet Addiction Test (IATS), Liebowitz Social Anxiety Scale (LSAS), Self-Esteem (SES). Structural equation modeling (SEM) employed examine mediating role addiction, adjusting for demographic variables such gender, parental education.
