Abstract This systematic review aimed to (1) synthesize average means and prevalence rates of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) measured by the Adverse Childhood Experiences International Questionnaire (ACE‐IQ) in clinical at‐risk samples; (2) discuss ACE‐IQ according participants' gender, age (both adults <18 years old), geographic area; (3) map relationships between scores other outcomes; (4) detect methodological issues studies. Results revealed following: several (e.g., mood disorders substance abuse) criminal low‐income) conditions studied, with an 4.93 mean 81.74% total ACEs; there is a lack data on males, domestic violence physical neglect being especially marked minors, no involving European North‐American mostly related abuse risk‐taking behaviours; major not‐randomized/convenience sampling techniques information sample procedure. In conclusion, seems promising tool clinical/at‐risk samples, but more are needed answer all research questions.
