Understanding journalism students’ perceptions of their news consumption is fundamental for defining media strategy and new professional profiles. Therefore, the purpose this research to analyse relationship between Portuguese students news. To achieve goal, an online survey was conducted. The analysed database comprises 449 responses from representing all regions country. This dataset constitutes largest most diverse national sample date analysing topic in Portugal. findings indicate that respondents do not read printed newspapers magazines, instead preferring obtain information via traditional websites, digital platforms, social media. While frequency reading starts off relatively low, there observed increase as advance through courses. For these young people, primarily centred on with television being last medium have a significant impact.
