Abstract The gut microbiota, housing trillions of microorganisms within the gastrointestinal tract, has emerged as a critical regulator host health and homeostasis. Through complex metabolic interactions, these produce diverse range metabolites that substantially impact various physiological processes host. This review aims to delve into intricate relationships microbiota-derived their influence on We will explore how affect crucial aspects physiology, including metabolism, mucosal integrity, communication among tissues. Moreover, we spotlight potential therapeutic applications targeting restore sustain equilibrium. Understanding interplay between microbiota is for developing innovative strategies promote wellbeing improve outcomes chronic diseases.

Given the emergence of resistant bacterial strains and novel microorganisms that globally threaten human life, moving toward new treatment modalities for microbial infections has become a priority more than ever. Antimicrobial photodynamic therapy (aPDT) been introduced as promising non-invasive local adjuvant in several oral infectious diseases. Its efficacy elimination bacterial, fungal, viral key pathogens such Streptococcus mutans, Porphyromonas gingivalis, Candida albicans, Enterococcus faecalis have investigated by many invitro clinical studies. Researchers also methods increasing amazing developments production natural, nano based, targeted photosensitizers. As studies an important role paving way towards evidence-based applications infection this method, current review aimed to provide overall view potential field summarize data available randomized controlled conducted on aPDT dentistry investigate its future horizons dental practice. Four databases including PubMed (Medline), Web Science, Scopus Embase were searched up September 2022 retrieve related There are reporting effective adjunctive modality capable reducing pathogenic loads periodontal peri-implant, persistent endodontic infections. Clinical evidence reveals therapeutic prevention reduction cariogenic organisms with fungal or origins, however, number these groups much less. Altogether, various photosensitizers used it is still not possible recommend specific irradiation parameters due heterogenicity among Reaching protocols difficult requires further high quality trials focusing PS shown able reduce sufficient follow-up periods.

Long coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in recovered patients (RPs) is gradually recognized by more people. However, how long it will last and the underlining mechanism remains unclear. We conducted a prospective follow-up study to evaluate long-term symptoms clinical indices of RPs at one-year after discharge from Union Hospital, Wuhan, China between December 2020 May 2021. We also performed 16S rRNA sequencing stool samples healthy controls (HCs) analyzed correlation gut microbiota COVID-19.In total, 187 were enrolled, among them, 84 (44.9%) reported COVID-19 discharge. The most common cardiopulmonary symptoms, including chest tightness activity (39/187, 20.9%), palpitations on exercise (27/187, 14.4%), sputum (21/187, 11.2%), cough (15/187, 8.0%) pain (13/187, 7.0%), followed systemic fatigue (34/187, 18.2%) myalgia (20/187, 10.7%), digestive constipation (14/187, 7.5%), anorexia diarrhea (8/187, 4.3%). Sixty-six (35.9%) presented either anxiety or depression (42/187 [22.8%] 53/187 [28.8%] respectively), proportion symptomatic group was significantly higher than that asymptomatic (41/187 [50.6%] vs. 25/187 [24.3%]). Compared with group, scores all nine 36-Item Short Form General Health Survey domains lower (all P < 0.05). One hundred thirty 32 HCs (non-severe acute respiratory syndrome 2 infected subjects) fecal sample sequencing. HCs, had obvious dysbiosis reduced bacterial diversities relative abundance short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs)-producing salutary symbionts such as Eubacterium_hallii_group, Subdoligranulum, Ruminococcus, Dorea, Coprococcus, Eubacterium_ventriosum_group. Meanwhile, Ruminococcus showed decreasing tendencies group. This demonstrated presence which correlates discharge, indicating may play an important role COVID-19.
