Field-flow fractionation (FFF) with its several variants, has developed into a mature methodology. The scope of the FFF investigations expanded, covering both wide range basic studies and especially analytical applications. Special attention this review is given to achievements reference recent applications in fractionation, isolation, purification biomacromolecules, from which those (in alphabetical order) bacteria, cells, extracellular vesicles, liposomes, lipoproteins, nucleic acids, viruses virus-like particles. In evaluating major approaches trends demonstrated since 2012, most significant biomacromolecule are compiled tables. It also evident that asymmetrical flow field-flow by far dominant technique studies. industry shown current interest adopted it some sophisticated fields. FFF, combination appropriate detectors, handles biomacromolecules open channel gentle way due lack shear forces unwanted interactions caused stationary phase present chromatography. addition, isolation quite high yields can be achieved under optimal conditions.

There is currently a need for new rapid viral diagnostic electron microscopy methods. Although the gold standard remains transmission (TEM) negative staining method microscopic examination of samples containing virus, difficulties can arise when virus particle content sample that has to be examined poor. Such include supernatants virus-infected cells difficult examine, as sometimes only few particles are released in culture medium upon infection. In addition TEM, scanning (SEM) also used visualizing particles. One advantage SEM over TEM its ability rapidly screen several large specimens, such slides. this study, we investigated possibility and tested different coating molecules well effect centrifugation analyzing SARS-CoV-2-virus-infected cell deposited on glass slides by SEM. We found 25XConcanavalinA-coated shell vials provided an improved concentrating virus-like detection

Despite global vaccination, the respiratory threat COVID-19 pandemic is not finished, as recent report of new variants worldwide. The use face masks droplet physical barrier still great importance. This work uses interface physics approach to suggest a method increase effectiveness two-layer cotton in blocking traveling droplets through its layers, by spraying thin layer edible oil on mask´s outer layer, dispersed ethanolic aqueous emulsion. After drying for 14 h, both treated and non-treated samples were tested constant flux 15 min. low cost improvement increased repellence 475%, wetness pattern analysis showed an mask 52% against internal accumulation, compared regular masks. Consequently, made advantageously hydrophobic possibly effective repelling incoming saliva droplets, carrying nanostructures corona viruses, forming two-way barrier. A colorimetric technique was developed determine permanent way accumulation layers digital image water-soluble powder-dye spots. revealed Hill-like sigmoid dynamic behavior adsorption/transfer layers.
