Currently, there is increasing evidence that early human development mediates the risk of cardiometabolic diseases and their factors in adulthood. This publication considers potential markers so-called fast life strategy — a cycle characterized by high disease risk, as well conditions leading to formation such strategy. In future, they may allow stratifying groups at premature death from cardiovascular metabolic routine clinical practice conducting prevention.

Purpose of review We provide an overview the secular trend earlier pubertal development, why there is a growing concern that environmental factors may be to blame, and how these influence developing reproductive axis. Recent findings highlight recent work suggesting that, in addition activating sex steroid receptors, compounds neuropeptide receptors and/or epigenetic regulators. describe studies linking air pollution, metals, endocrine disrupting (EDCs), short sleep duration, early life adversity, stress timing. Summary Pubertal timing tightly controlled by genetic, epigenetic, factors. While animal epidemiological have pointed several potential factors, additional necessary identify critical levels developmental windows exposure as well mechanistic underpinnings.

Abstract Central precocious puberty (CPP) is the premature activation of hypothalamus–pituitary–gonadal axis, resulting in early development secondary sexual characteristics. CPP classically occurs before age 8 years girls and 9 boys. The aetiology this onset governed by complex mechanistic interactions between genetic environmental factors. rates have been documented to rising COVID-19 pandemic; despite this, incidence has increased exponentially since start pandemic. There are multiple theories potentially explaining change over COVID-19. These include direct effect SARS-coV-2 infection, increasing body mass index adolescents sequential lockdowns, changes sleep patterns, use electronic devices levels stress, additionally potential earlier detection signs parents carers. Whilst there evidence from observational cohorts, case studies animal models for each these factors, it difficult definitively prove which had greatest impact due mainly retrospective nature human research that conducted. Moreover, set diverse settings with varying population make comparison complex. Additionally, country responded differently pandemic lockdowns varied locations, hence lockdown was not equal or universal. Despite similar trends identified, various lifestyle occurred being influential factors on CPP.

Abstract Background To investigate serum irisin levels in girls at different developmental status and explore the significance of for diagnosis central precocious puberty (CPP) girls. Methods In this cross-sectional study 111 were enrolled, including 43 cases CPP, 44 peripheral (PPP) 24 with normal sexual development as controls. The data on age, weight height, measured blood luteinizing hormone (LH), follicle stimulating (FSH), estradiol, collected. Pelvic Doppler ultrasound was performed to evaluate uterine length, transverse diameter, anteroposterior diameter. divided into non-CPP group CPP according gonadotropin-releasing (GnRH) stimulation test. Results Serum significantly higher than PPP control group. level positively correlated basal LH level, FSH peak /FSH ratio, volume, bone age index. area under curve, cut-off value, sensitivity specificity 0.958, 219.255 pg/ml, 100% 80.6%. combined by volume had an AUC, sensitivity, 0.994, 97.6%, 100%, superior that single Conclusions is increased. Puberty is a key phase of growth and development, characterized by psychophysical transformations. It driven combination genetic, hormonal, environmental variables. Epigenetic mechanisms, including histone post-translational modifications chromatin remodeling, microRNAs, DNA methylation, play important roles in orchestrating the developmental processes. We describe factors that may interact with genetics, influencing puberty onset, focusing particular on epigenetic mechanisms can help understand timing variations lead to precocious or delayed puberty.
