The study presents a literature review of glyphosate (GLY) occurrence and its breakdown product, aminomethylphosphonic acid (AMPA), in soils worldwide, but with specific focus on South America. In addition, an ecological risk approach based the ecotoxicological endpoints for key soil biota (e.g., collembolans, earthworms) assessed impact GLY AMPA these organisms. A generic probabilistic model human health was also calculated different world regions. For what reports edaphic species level pollution under worst-case scenario, American continent identified as region most concern. Nonetheless, other areas may be danger, no could due to lack data. Since tropical countries are top food exporters results obtained this must carefully examined their implications global scale. Some factors behind high levels two chemicals debated permissive protection policies, extensive use genetically modified crops), some possible guidelines presented that include, example, further environmental characterisation management pesticide residues. present integrates data can used base by policymakers decision-makers develop implement policies.

The use of pesticides in agriculture has raised concerns due to their potential impact on human, animal and ecosystem health. Within a collaborative research framework, study was co-constructed between researchers local stakeholders rural communities Nan province (Thailand) assess pesticide exposure levels. A total 1,023 human serum samples were collected from volunteer participants. level organophosphate compounds showed that 12 (1.1%) 134 (13%) individuals had hazardous or risky conditions, respectively. Generalized linear modeling revealed age (older participants), chemical usage (spraying pesticide), habitat landscape characteristics (i.e., villages surrounded by orchard, forest, teak, rubber rain-fed rice) soil erosion appeared significant factors explain the exposure. In addition, domestic animals (dogs cattle) wildlife (rodents fishes) living vicinity also assessed for Applying One Health principle helps understand people, linking environmental at scale thereby developing appropriate policies regulations be implemented.

Abstract To address the decline in soil organic matter and thus life health due to intensive tillage potato production, innovative regenerative farming approaches employ cover crops transferred dead mulch improve plant nutrition, minimize disturbance, foster microbial activity. Starting 2019 2021, three two-year field experiments were set up a that had been converted non-inversion since 2015, investigate effects of cropping before application potatoes compared weedy fallow N-fertilization with hair meal pellets as controls. For every experiment, biomass carbon (MBC), basal respiration, fungal ergosterol examined, starting crop fall until spring succeeding potatoes. In all experiments, initial on activity depended incorporated no differences between vetch-triticale or fallow. During cropping, however, especially incorporation combined grass-clover resulted increased MBC, respiration ergosterol. After plots mulched during pointing slower overall more based degradation at time those plots. These results underscore potential practices enhance microbiology cultivation.
