Neurodegenerative diseases encompass a spectrum of disorders marked by the progressive degeneration structure and function nervous system. These conditions, including Parkinson's disease (PD), Alzheimer's (AD), Huntington's (HD), Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), Multiple (MS), often lead to severe cognitive motor deficits. A critical component neurodegenerative pathologies is imbalance between pro-oxidant antioxidant mechanisms, culminating in oxidative stress. The brain's high oxygen consumption lipid-rich environment make it particularly vulnerable damage. Pro-oxidants such as reactive nitrogen species (RNS) (ROS) are continuously generated during normal metabolism, counteracted enzymatic non-enzymatic defenses. In diseases, this balance disrupted, leading neuronal This systematic review explores roles stress, gut microbiota, epigenetic modifications aiming elucidate interplay these factors identify potential therapeutic strategies. We conducted comprehensive search articles published 2024 across major databases, focusing on studies examining relationships redox homeostasis, changes neurodegeneration. total 161 were included, comprising clinical trials, observational studies, experimental research. Our findings reveal that stress plays central role pathogenesis with microbiota composition significantly influencing balance. Specific bacterial taxa markers identified modulators suggesting novel avenues for intervention. Moreover, recent evidence from human animal supports emerging concept targeting homeostasis through therapies. Future research should focus validating targets settings exploring personalized medicine strategies based individual profiles.

The growing interest in microbiota–epigenetics–immune system research stems from the understanding that microbiota, a group micro-organisms colonized human body, influence gene expression through epigenetic mechanisms and interaction with immune system. Epigenetics refers to changes activity are not caused by alteration DNA sequence itself. Recent research has provided crucial insights into role of gut microbiota in onset progression breast cancer, confirming its impact on disease’s management. Despite numerous studies exploring this relationship, there a lack comprehensive bibliometric analyses to outline field’s current state emerging trends. This study aims fill that gap by analyzing key directions identifying hotspots. Method Publications from 2013 2023 were retrieved Web Science Core Collection database. The VOSviewer, R language SCImago Graphica software utilized analyze visualize volume publications, countries/regions, institutions, authors, keywords field. Results A total 515 publications included study. journal Cancers was identified as prolific, contributing 21 papers. Scope Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is one of the most common chronic and debilitating functional disorders affecting around 11% population across world. IBD associated with 3.6 million physician visits per year, being reason visiting a gastroenterologist second to be absent from work, sharply increasing health care costs. Methods Results Several treatments seem effective in symptoms relief, such as probiotics, prebiotics, fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT), dietary patterns. Probiotics (living microorganisms that can supplemented) protect against pathogenic bacteria due their antimicrobial qualities. Prebiotics (nondigestible food ingredients) promote growth beneficial microbial strains gut, giving benefit host. FMT supposed directly change recipient's composition when transfer gastrointestinal healthy donor carried out. And finally, patterns are spotlight, presence certain nutrients tract motility, sensitivity, barrier function, gut microbiota. Conclusion It particularly important know what treatment options available which efficient relieving improving patient's quality life.
