Background Linarine is a natural chemical component widely found in Buddleja officinalis Maxim., Chrysanthemum indicum L., Mentha canadensis and other medicinal plants. Modern pharmacological studies have shown that linarine with good anti-inflammatory antioxidant activities can inhibit the proliferation induce apoptosis of many kinds tumor cells. Moreover, showed protective effect on liver, kidneys, organs. Methods Inflammation model human corneal epithelial cell (HCEC) was constructed using NaCl induction, cytotoxicity detected by CCK8 assay. The levels inflammatory factors necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) interleukin 1β (IL-1β) were measured Enzyme-linked immunoassay (ELISA). Chronic painful stimulation (tail clamping) combination Benzalkonium Chloride Solution drops desiccator established mouse dry eye disease (DED). following parameters recorded: body mass, anal temperature, tear secretion, film rupture time, fluorescein staining. mitogen activated protein kinase (MAPK), nuclear factor kappa-B (NF-kB), c-Jun N-terminal (JNK), IL-1β, Interleukin 18(IL-18), A2A, A3, P2X4, P2X7, P2Y1 immunofluorescence (IF) Results secreation TNF-α, IL-1β HCECs. prolonged promoted repaired damage, reduced MAPK, NF-kB, JNK, IL-18, modulated purinergic receptor. Conclusions effective treating mice inhibiting receptors-mediated response.

Background: Dry eye disease (DED) is a chronic condition characterized by decrease in tear production or an increase evaporation, leading to inflammation and damage of the ocular surface. Dysfunction ion channels, hyperosmolarity immune cell-driven create vicious circle responsible for pathological changes eyes DED patients. Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are adult, rapidly proliferating that produce large number immunoregulatory, angiomodulatory, growth factors efficiently reduce hyperosmolarity-induced changes, inhibit harmful response, provide trophic support injured corneal conjuctival epithelial cells, goblet acinar lacrimal glands Methods: An extensive research literature was implemented order elucidate role MSCs attenuation patients suffering from DED. Results: Findings obtained preclinical pilot clinical studies demonstrated reduced hyperomsolaity-induced suppressed inflammation. Additionally, MSC-based therapy managed successfully address most severe DED-related conditions complications. Conclusions: should be considered as potentially new therapeutic agents treatment

Postoperative dry eye is a common complication following femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery, and the patient interface (PI) used during procedure may play significant role in its occurrence. This study, utilizing meticulous scientific search strategy, identified seven relevant articles through literature engines. Most of these studies employed contact-type PI surgeries, while one researcher non-contact PI. All assessed symptoms at various postoperative periods using metrics such as Ocular Surface Disease Index (OSDI), tear Break-Up Time (BUT), Schirmer I test (SIt), so on. However, findings were inconsistent. On this basis, comprehensive review delves into potential impact different interfaces on corneal nerve damage conjunctival goblet cell injury, possibly contributing to an increased risk eye. The also explores preventive solution strategies, including improving design, reducing surgical time, protective agents. highlight importance optimizing minimize surgery.

Dry eye disease (DED) is an emerging health issue affecting millions of individuals annually. Ocular surface disorders, such as DED, are characterized by inflammation triggered various factors. This condition can lead to tear deficiencies, resulting in the desiccation ocular surface, corneal ulceration/perforation, increased susceptibility infections, and a higher risk severe visual impairment blindness. Currently, clinical management DED primarily relies on supportive palliative measures, including frequent lifelong use different lubricating agents. While some advancements like punctal plugs, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, salivary gland autografts have been attempted, they shown limited effectiveness. Recently, there promising developments treatment biomaterials nano-systems, hydrogels, contact lenses for drug delivery, cell-based therapies, biological approaches, tissue-based regenerative therapy. article specifically explores strategies reported so far treating DED. The aim discuss their potential long-term cures while also considering factors that limit feasibility These offer hope more effective sustainable options future.

Abstract Ethnopharmacological Relevance Sjögren's syndrome (SJS) and dry eye (DES) are characterized by ocular dryness from inadequate tear production or excessive evaporation. To evaluate the effectiveness of TBDESJS (Chun‐Yu‐Ching‐Hua‐Yin, CYCHY), a TCM tea bag, in treating SJS DES patients compared with healthy controls (NHC). Materials Methods This phase II pilot study included 100 participants (60 SJS, 30 DES, 10 NHC) across 8 weeks, assessing changes Schirmer's test, OSDI, ESSPRI, PSQI, FIRST, artificial usage, using repeated measurement ANOVA Tukey's honestly significant difference (HSD) for analysis. Results Total 97 subjects completed trial, left (OS) improvements at 4, weeks were observed (0.13 ± 0.43–5.77 2.87, 7.60 4.84 mm) (0.21 0.41–6.21 2.97, 7.86 3.47 (all p < .001). For right (OD), 0.39–6.77 4.53, 8.79 5.92 (0.34 0.55–6.59 2.50, 8.24 3.42 Secondary outcomes showed reduced ESSPRI scores (6.37 1.97–5.57 1.79, .001) (6.10 1.97–5.28 2.23, .05). PSQI global improved significantly all groups ( Artificial usage decreased (4.93 2.45–1.00 0.82 times/day), (4.47 1.99–0.66 0.67 times/day) No serious adverse events this study. Conclusion production, dryness, sleep quality, indicating potential neural regulation, anti‐inflammatory immunomodulatory benefits. These findings advocate CYCHY)'s comprehensive therapeutic value treatment, emphasizing need further research to understand long‐term effects mechanisms.
