A healthy balanced diet is crucial in protecting the immune system against infections and diseases. Poor diets, such as Western diet, contribute to development of metabolic diseases, hypertension, obesity. Microbiota, primarily composed different microorganisms residing gastrointestinal tract (GIT), also play a significant role maintaining gut health. Polyphenols probiotics found fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, nuts, seeds promote health support growth beneficial bacteria. Different types their categories, impact on are mentioned. The relationship between health, risk developing obesity, cardiovascular inflammatory diseases discussed this review article. rationale behind concludes future recommendations for reducing occurrence cardiometabolic other There need standardized research methods, long-term studies, translating scientific knowledge into practical dietary recommendations.

Microbes are critical for flavor formation in fermented foods; however, their mechanisms of action not fully understood. The microbial composition 51 dairy and 47 vegetable products was functionally annotated the carbohydrate-active enzyme (CAZyme) profiles Lactiplantibacillus plantarum 84-3 (Lp84-3), isolated from samples, can promote resistant starch (RS) degradation, were analyzed. Lactobacillus, Streptococcus, Lactococcus predominant genera products, whereas major vegetables Weissella, Carnimonas. Phages Siphoviridae, Myoviridae, Herelleviridae also present products. Additionally, glycosyl hydrolase (GHs) family members GH1 GH13 glycosyltransferase (GTs) GT2 GT4 abundant Lp84-3. Moreover, Lp84-3 enriched butanoate metabolism enzymes metabolite compounds. Therefore, food microbes, especially Lp84-3, have an repertoire that production, as starter improving

Myalgic encephalomyelitis, also known as chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS), and long COVID are complex, multisystemic long-term disabling conditions characterized by debilitating post-exertional malaise other core symptoms related to immune dysregulation resultant from post-viral infection, including mitochondrial dysfunction, neuroinflammation gut dysbiosis. The reported associations between altered microbiota composition cardinal of ME/CFS suggest that the use microbial preparations, such probiotics, restoring homeostasis brain–immune–gut axis, may help in management both conditions. Therefore, this review aims investigate implications alerted microbiome assess evidence supporting microbial-based synbiotics, postbiotics alone and/or combination with nutraceuticals fatigue, inflammation neuropsychiatric gastrointestinal among patients COVID.

Growing interests in replacing conventional preservatives and antibiotics food pharmaceutical industries have driven the exploration of bacterial metabolites, especially those from strains with generally recognized as safe (GRAS) status, such lactic acid bacteria (LAB). In this study, a supernatant cocktail derived multiple LAB was prepared its bioactivities—antimicrobial, antibiofilm, antioxidant, cytotoxicity, stability—were thoroughly investigated. The cocktail's main components were identified using thermal protease treatments, gas chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry (GC–MS), flame ionization detection (GC-FID). results demonstrated that had broad inhibition spectrum effective against food-related indicators highest activity observed on Bacillus cereus ATCC9634 (inhibition zone sizes 12.33 mm) lowest Enterococcus faecium DSM 13590 (3.31 mm). It showed dose- time-dependent delaying effects growth tested fungi. Regarding antibiofilm activity, it more preventing biofilm formation (40% reduction) than degrading preformed (20% reduction). Additionally, antioxidant capacity 10.1 ± 0.3 g Trolox equivalent (TE)/kg dose-dependent cytotoxicity HEK-293 HT-29 cell lines. bioactive compounds are organic acids (particularly acetic acid), volatiles, bacteriocin-like compounds. antimicrobial highly reproducible across different fermentation batches, remained stable at 4 °C. Overall, these findings provided novel insights into functional potentials broadening their application customizable biopreservatives for industry.

Abstract Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is a primary chronic ailment around the world, posing significant threat to human health. Probiotics, living microorganisms that enhance intestinal flora equilibrium and mitigate blood lipid levels. This study aimed identify probiotics with excellent antioxidant capacity from naturally fermented foods, investigate their potential mechanisms in relieving high-fat diet (HFD)-induced injury modulating balance. These findings fundamentally benefit advancement of functional probiotic foods. Lactobacillus fermentum KP101, isolated kimchi, was evaluated for its activity. Assessment HFD-induced based on biochemical markers, protein expression levels, histopathology. L. KP101 remarkably reduced mice serum levels TC, TG, LDL, ALT, AST. intervention effectively modulated dyslipidemia activated AMPK signalling pathway alleviate injury. Specifically, SREBP-1 p-ACC presented an obvious reduction, while p-AMPK PPARα notably increased following treatment. Moreover, mitigated dysbiosis HFD-fed mice. In summary, demonstrated efficacy improving hyperlipidemia metabolic disorders conditions.
