Nanoplastics (NPs, < 1 μm) have attracted widespread attention due to their potential threats organisms, ecosystem, and public health. However, there is limited research on the effects of NPs cephalopods. Sepia esculenta (Mollusks, Cephalopoda, Sepioidea), an economically major species Sepiidea family in world, well received by consumers for its delicious quality rich nutrition. In present study, S. larvae were treated with polystyrene nanoplastics (PS-NPs) at 50 μg/mL 4 h, then physiological biomarkers (SOD, GSTs MDA) RNA-Seq whole body performed. Research results suggested that PS-NPs exposure had induced oxidative stress larvae. addition, several key genes signaling pathways related obtained based DEGs, GO KEGG enrichment analyses, as PPI construction analysis transcriptome data. This study enriches different organisms provides insights references revealing mechanisms caused molecular level.

Extensive application of lead (Pb) brought about environmental pollution and toxic reactions organisms. Selenium (Se) has the effect antagonizing Pb poisoning in humans animals. However, it is still unclear how causes brainstem toxicity. In present study, we wanted to investigate whether Se can alleviate toxicity chicken brainstems by reducing apoptosis. One hundred eighty chickens were randomly divided into four groups, namely control group, Se/Pb group. Morphological examination, ultrastructural observation, relative mRNA expressions genes on heat shock proteins (HSPs); selenoproteins; inflammatory cytokines; apoptosis-related factors investigated. The results showed that exposure led tissue damage apoptosis brainstems. Furthermore, an atypical expression HSPs (HSP27, HSP40, HSP60, HSP70, HSP90); selenoprotein family glutathione peroxidase (GPx) 1, GPx2, GPx3, GPx4), thioredoxin reductases (Txnrd) (Txnrd1, Txnrd2, Txnrd3), dio famliy (diodothyronine deiodinases (Dio)1, Dio2, Dio3), as well other selenoproteins (selenoprotein (Sel)T, SelK, SelS, SelH, SelM, SelU, SelI, SelO, Selpb, n1 (Sepn1), Sepp1, Sepx1, Sepw1, 15-kDa (Sep15), selenophosphate synthetases 2 (SPS2)); cytokines (Interleukin (IL-2), IL-4, IL-6, IL-12β, IL-17, Interferon-γ (IFN-γ)); (B-cell lymphoma-2 (Bcl-2), tumor protein 53 (p53), Bcl-2 Associated X (Bax), Cytochrome c (Cyt c), Caspase-3) identified. An reaction induced after Pb. alleviated abnormal HSPs, selenoproteins, cytokines, tissues treated with indicated inflammatory, involved Se-resisted poisoning. Overall, had resistance against poisoning, be act antidote for

Salinity is an important environmental factor that affects the health of aquatic animals, when salinity level above tolerance threshold can pose a significant threat to survival animals. As trace element necessary for animal growth, selenium participates in body's antioxidant reaction, and protect animals from oxidative stress damage. Biological methods synthesizing nanoparticles (bio-Se-NPs) bacteria are safe, inexpensive, accessible. Therefore, we synthesized using Lactobacillus plantarum (probiotic) study immune, antioxidant, inflammatory responses selenium-rich (SL, type bio-Se-NPs) fed Cyprinus carpio under low-salinity (5 g/L salinity) high-salinity (10 stresses. Analyses revealed addition SL at concentration 1 mg/kg significantly alleviated growth inhibition caused by stress. salinity-induced liver tissue injury (numerous cytoplasmic vacuolations accumulation, cell infiltration, nuclear lysis, some blood congestion). abnormal levels serum ALT, AST, GGT LDH stress, improved lipid metabolism (TG, TC, LDL-C, HDL-C). also regulates cytokines genes (TNF-α, iL-1β, iL-10, TGFβ-1, SOD, CAT, GPx1, HO-1) through NF-κB Nrf-2 signaling pathways thereby reduce response increase level, these effects attenuate salinity-mediated In conclusion, our findings indicate promote development fish alleviate adverse thus, be potential feed additive alleviating responses.

Salmonella infection is a major concern in poultry production which poses potential risks to food safety. Our previous study confirmed that Lactiplantibacillus plantarum (LP) postbiotic exhibited strong antibacterial capacity on vitro. This aimed investigate the beneficial effects and underlying mechanism of LP Salmonella-challenged broilers. A total 240 one-day-old male yellow-feathered broilers were pretreated with 0.8% MRS medium or (LP cell-free culture supernatant, LPC) drinking water for 28 days, then challenged 109 CFU enterica serotype Enteritidis (SE). Birds sacrificed three days post infection. Results showed LPC maintained growth performance by increasing BW, ADG ADFI under SE challenge. significantly attenuated SE-induced intestinal mucosal damages. Specifically, it decreased injury score, increased villus length villus/crypt, regulated expression injury-related genes (Villin, MMP3, I-FABP), enhanced tight junctions (ZO-1 Claudin-1). caused dramatic inflammatory response, as indicated up-regulated concentrations IL-1β, IL-6, TNF-α, downregulation IL-10, while pretreatment markedly reversed this trend. We found inhibited activation NLRP3 inflammasome decreasing gene NLRP3, Caspase‐1, IL-lβ IL-18. Furthermore, suppressed inhibiting NF-κB signaling pathway (the reduced levels TLR4, MyD88, IRAK4 NF-κB). Finally, our results gut microbiota enhancing percentage Ligilactobacillus Alistipes Barnesiella. In summary, we was effective protect against infection, possibly through suppressing optimizing microbiota. provides postbiotics prevention poultry.

Lead (Pb), a hazardous heavy metal, can damage the health of organisms. However, it is not clear whether Pb chicken cerebellums and thalami. Selenium (Se), an essential nutrient for organisms, has palliative effect on poisoning in chickens. In our experiment, model chickens treated with Se alone combination was established to investigate molecular mechanism alleviating Pb-caused both Our morphological results indicated that caused apoptotic lesions, such as mitochondrial nuclear damage. Further, anti-apoptotic gene Bcl-2 decreased; contrary, four pro-apoptotic genes (p53, Bax, Cyt c, Caspase-3) increased under treatment, meaning apoptosis via p53-Cyt c-Caspase-3 pathway. Furthermore, we further demonstrated elevated HSPs (HSP27, HSP40, HSP70, HSP90), well HSP70 took part apoptosis. addition, found exposure led oxidative stress up-regulating oxidant H2O2 down-regulating antioxidants (CAT, SOD, GST, GPx). Moreover, decreased three Se-containing factors (Txnrd1, Txnrd2, Txnrd3), confirming stress. Interestingly, supplementation reversed above changes by alleviated Pb-induced A time dependency Bcl-2, c cerebellums, CAT, GPx, p53 thalami Pb-exposed HSP27 were more sensitive than those respectively, exposure. severe cerebellums. conclusion, after Txnrds mediated stress, up-regulated HSPs, finally, triggered antagonized pathway selenoproteins This study provides new information environmental pollutant detoxification abiotic
