Neurons generate various spike patterns to execute different functions. Understanding how these physiological neuronal are related their molecular characteristics is a long-standing issue in neuroscience. Herein, we review the results of recent studies that have addressed this by integrating and transcriptomic techniques. A sequence experiments, including vivo recording and/or labeling, brain tissue slicing, cell collection, analysis, identified gene expression profiles neurons at single-cell level, with activity recorded living animals. Although techniques still early stages, methodological idea principally applicable regions patterns. Accumulating evidence will contribute deeper understanding insights from molecules cells, circuits, behaviors.
