Natural products from mushrooms, plants, microalgae, and cyanobacteria have been intensively explored studied for their preventive or therapeutic potential. Among age-related pathologies, neurodegenerative diseases (such as Alzheimer’s Parkinson’s diseases) represent a worldwide health social problem. Since several pathological mechanisms are associated with neurodegeneration, promising strategies against aimed to target multiple processes. These approaches usually avoid premature cell death the loss of function damaged neurons. This review focuses attention on potential compounds derived natural sources, which could be exploited neuroprotective effect. Curcumin, resveratrol, ergothioneine, phycocyanin presented examples successful approaches, special focus possible improve delivery brain.

Alzheimer’s disease, characterized by a decline in cognitive functions, is frequently associated with decreased levels of acetylcholine due to the overactivity acetylcholinesterase (AChE). Inhibiting AChE has been key therapeutic strategy treating yet search for effective inhibitors, particularly from natural sources, continues their potential fewer side effects. In this context, three new alkaloids—oleracone L, portulacatone B, and portulacatal—extracted Portulaca oleracea L., have recently shown promising anticholinesterase activity vitro. However, no experimental or computational studies explored binding potential. This study represents first comprehensive silico analysis these compounds, employing ADME prediction, molecular docking, dynamics simulations, MM-PBSA calculations assess The drug-likeness was evaluated based on Lipinski, Pfizer, Golden Triangle, GSK rules, all alkaloids meeting criteria. profiles suggested that can effectively cross blood–brain barrier, critical requirement treatment. Molecular docking revealed oleracone L had highest affinity (−10.75 kcal/mol) towards AChE, followed portulacatal demonstrating significant interactions crucial enzyme residues. simulations over 200 ns confirmed stability interactions, RMSD values below 2 Å complexes, indicating stable throughout simulation period. RMSF radius gyration analyses further corroborated minimal impact enzyme’s overall flexibility compactness. Moreover, provided additional support efficacy, showing most favorable energy, could be superior inhibitor, potentially its stronger more consistent hydrogen bonding electrostatic compared other studied alkaloids. These findings highlight efficiency viability as suggesting they candidates disease underscores importance validation through vitro vivo experiments confirm predictions.

In the past, wounds were treated with natural materials, but modern wound dressings include functional elements to expedite process of healing and improve skin recovery. Due their exceptional properties, nanofibrous are now most cutting-edge desirable option. Similar in structure skin’s own extracellular matrix (ECM), these can promote tissue regeneration, fluid transportation, air ductility for cellular proliferation regeneration owing nanostructured fibrous meshes or scaffolds. Many academic search engines databases, such as Google Scholar, PubMed, Sciencedirect, used conduct a comprehensive evaluation literature purposes this investigation. Using term “nanofibrous meshes” keyword, paper focuses on importance phytoconstituents. This review article summarizes recent developments conclusions from studies bioactive infused medicinal plants. Several wound-healing methods, wound-dressing components derived plants also discussed.

Neurodegenerative diseases encompass a wide range of debilitating and incurable brain disorders characterized by the progressive deterioration nervous system's structure function. Isoflavones, which are naturally occurring polyphenolic phytochemicals, have been found to regulate various cellular signaling pathways associated with system. The main objective this comprehensive review is explore neuroprotective effects isoflavones, elucidate underlying mechanisms, assess their potential for treating neurodegenerative disorders. Relevant data regarding isoflavones impact on were gathered from multiple library databases electronic sources, including PubMed, Google Scholar, Web Science, Science Direct. Numerous genistein, daidzein, biochanin A, formononetin, exhibited potent properties against diseases. These compounds modulate neurotransmitters, in turn contributes ability protect neurodegeneration. Both vitro vivo experimental studies provided evidence neuroprotection involve interactions estrogenic receptors, antioxidant effects, anti-inflammatory properties, anti-apoptotic activity, modulation neural plasticity. This aims provide current insights into characteristics shed light therapeutic applications future clinical scenarios.

Nanotechnology has significantly impacted human life, particularly in overcoming the limitations associated with neurodegenerative diseases (NDs). Various nanostructures and vehicle systems, such as polymer nanoparticles, carbon nanotubes (CNTs), nanoliposomes, nano-micelles, lipid lactoferrin, polybutylcyanoacrylate, poly lactic-co-glycolic acid, have been shown to enhance drug efficacy, reduce side effects, improve pharmacokinetics. NDs affect millions worldwide are challenging treat due blood-brain barrier (BBB), which hinders delivery central nervous system (CNS). Research suggests that natural ingredients can be formulated into offering a promising approach for ND treatment. This review examines advantages disadvantages of herbal-based nanoformulations, highlighting their potential effectiveness when used alone or combination other medications. Herbal nanoparticles provide benefits over synthetic ones biocompatibility, reduced toxicity, synergistic effects. The study's findings applied develop more efficient improving treatment by enhancing penetration across BBB targeting affected CNS areas precisely.
