Health care specialists are key workers who faced extreme challenges posed by pandemic, including threats to their own lives due rapid spread of virus, huge increase in workload, professional burnout syndrome. Analysis factors that physicians found most exhausting during could lay groundwork for effective management future crises. To identify working family physician (family internal medicine) teams Lithuania assess causes. An anonymous survey (n = 191) was carried out from 21 June 2021 17 September 2021. Physicians signed an informed consent form prior completion questionnaire. Mixed data analysis performed, consisting statistical using SPSS 27 software qualitative causal analysis.During were exhausted by: chaotic vaccination priorities (44.5%); unsatisfied patients (52.4%); constantly changing legislation (71.7%); large workload (75.9%); malfunctioning online systems (81.2%).Physicians indicated following aspects require improvement: service provision; work organization physicians; satisfaction with decisions made pandemic.

Statins are among the most frequently prescribed medications. In addition to their well-established effectiveness in lowering total cholesterol, LDL, and triglycerides, statins have been described immunomodulatory anti-inflammatory properties associated with improved endothelial functions. Given common use of statins, we sought evaluate effect on some viral infections encountered by residents tropical areas or international travelers. A literature search was performed PubMED/MEDLINE focusing keywords that included viruses interest, including SARS-CoV-2, influenza, yellow fever, dengue, Zika, tick-borne encephalitis, hemorrhagic fever viruses, hepatitis A, norovirus, B, C, measles, herpesviruses; findings were synthesized for each virus into a summary. The effects vary depending specific virus. While studies indicate potential benefits chronic HBV HCV infections, evidence regarding SARS-CoV-2 influenza remains inconclusive due mixed from observational randomized controlled trials. role other is largely unexplored, preclinical data available only few viruses. conflicting evidence, further prospective trials warranted elucidate statins’ particularly modulating inflammation, dysfunction, immune responses. Future research should aim define optimal patient populations, target statin types, treatment durations may confer infections.

Abstract Statins may protect against adverse outcomes from Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID‐19) through their pleiotropic effects. Endothelial dysfunction seems to be implicated in the pathophysiology of COVID‐19, and can attenuated by statins. This study assessed role preadmission statin therapy its interaction with endothelial function, measured using flow‐mediated dilation (FMD) at hospital admission, predicting in‐hospital among patients COVID‐19 having high‐to‐very high cardiovascular (CV) risk. We conducted a retrospective cohort hospitalized CV risk, including subgroup who underwent FMD assessment. Among 342 patients, 119 (35%) were treated statins baseline.
