Empagliflozin, a sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor, has recently reported to prevent the depression in chronic animal model. The present study aimed explore antidepressant potential of empagliflozin using neuroinflammation-mediated involving olfactory bulbectomy (OBX) model diabetic rats. A low dose streptozotocin was injected induce diabetes all group animals. Following confirmation hyperglycemia, OBX surgery performed. Post-surgery, drug treatments were administered orally for 14 consecutive days. evaluated effects daily oral administration at doses 5 and 10 mg/kg, alongside metformin (200 mg/kg) clomipramine (50 mg/kg), on OBX-induced behavioral Separate sham vehicle control groups also maintained. Behavioral parameters open field, forced swim test, elevated plus maze splash test recorded 28
