Abstract Medicinal plants are an important source of therapeutic compounds used in the treatment many diseases since ancient times. Interestingly, they form associations with numerous microorganisms developing as endophytes or symbionts different parts plants. Within soil, arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) most prevalent symbiotic forming more than 70% vascular In last decade, a number studies have reported positive effects AMF on improving production and accumulation active medicinal this work, we reviewed literature secondary metabolites The major findings follows: impact either directly by increasing plant biomass indirectly stimulating metabolite biosynthetic pathways. magnitude differs depending genotype, strain, environmental context (e.g., light, time harvesting). Different methods cultivation for greenhouse, aeroponics, hydroponics, vitro hairy root cultures) which also compatible AMF. conclusion, inoculation is real avenue quantity quality pharmacological, medical, cosmetic interest.

Date palm tree (Phoenix dactylifera) has traditionally been grown in South-West Asia and North Africa, principally for date fruit consumption. Nevertheless, its cultivation recently spread to other areas of America, sub-Saharan Oceania Southern Europe. During processing, several by-products are generated, like low-quality dates, pits, leaves pollen. These wastes, together with the fruit, constitute an important source biocomponents such as hydroxycinnamic hydroxybenzoic acids, flavonoids, tannins, carotenoids, tocopherols, tocotrienols, phytosterols phytoestrogens. This review provides detailed information about sensory properties, nutritional profile biocompounds health-promoting properties present by-products. Furthermore, recent findings regarding potential these products develop new functional foodstuffs was also highlighted. Several studies have reported that outstanding richness bioactive compounds healthy make them suitable be used nutraceutical ingredients foodstuffs. Their incorporation formulation foods would contribute cover increasing demand consumers by elaborated natural ingredients. Moreover, aspect take into account is food matrixes excellent vehicle availability biomolecules products.
