There is little study on melatonin’s ability to prevent salt damage in eggplants, despite the fact that it a strong antioxidant plants has been found help mitigate variety of adverse challenges. In this study, we used “Anhui Eggplant No.8” as test material and simulated stress by irrigating roots with 150 mmol·L NaCl solution. Subsequently, treated eggplants different concentrations exogenous melatonin (0, 50, 100, 150, 200, 250 μmol·L) assessed plant traits an array physiological biochemical indices following application observe impact stress. Our results indicate at concentration 200 μmol·L can significantly alleviate inhibition eggplant photosynthesis under increasing content chlorophyll leaves activity enzymes. This leads notable increase levels non-enzyme antioxidants osmotic regulatory substances. As result, capacity enhanced, degree membrane lipid peroxidation reduced, growth seedlings effectively promoted, thereby strengthening tolerance seedlings. Fluorescence quantitative data analysis indicates SmCAT4 indeed gene positively regulates However, SmPPO family, did not find any genes respond research provides theoretical foundation for improving yield productivity quality protected farming clarifying mechanism which controls

GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid) is an amino acid whose numerous regulatory functions have been identified in animal organisms. More and more research indicate that plants, this molecule also involved controlling basic growth development processes. As recent studies shown, plays essential role triggering plant resistance to unfavorable environmental factors, which particularly important the era of changing climate. The main sources cells are glutamic acid, converted shunt pathway, polyamines subjected oxidative degradation. action often related activity other messengers, including phytohormones, polyamines, NO, H2O2, or melatonin. can function as upstream downstream element signaling pathways regulators, acting synergistically antagonistically with them control cellular Understanding its interactions molecules may be for developing crop varieties characteristics enable adaptation a environment.

Abstract Climate change-induced waterlogging negatively impacts citrus crops. This study examined the effects of stress and elicitor treatments on Citrus aurantium seedlings' leaf traits. Elicitors, including γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) (5 10 mM), melatonin (50 100 µM), potassium phosphite (KPhi) (2 3 g/l), were applied to seedlings under field capacity (FC) (WS) conditions for four weeks. The results showed that WS significantly reduced relative water content, but mM GABA preserved highest levels FC conditions. decreased lignin content by 20%, while boosted lignification stress. Total phenol peaked with 2 g/l KPhi control WS, inversely correlating content. Phenylalanine ammonia-lyase activity dropped 19% in waterlogged controls was Cell wall-bound peroxidase declined yet µM maximum FC. Superoxide dismutase also maintained activity. Catalase remained stable increased GABA. Hydrogen peroxide malondialdehyde controls, them both Overall, 2–3 enhanced resilience C. WS.

ABSTRACT Melatonin, a multifunctional, non‐toxic regulatory molecule, plays crucial role in enhancing tolerance to abiotic stress, which is tightly linked S metabolism. Despite the proven efficacy of sulfur (S) stress tolerance, combined effect and melatonin mitigation remains be elucidated. This particularly relevant context climate change, where increased occurrence waterlogging increases risk reduced availability, leading yield quality rapeseed. The objective this study examine impact combination foliar sulfur, when administered soil or leaves, on response plants stress. experimental design involved supplementation rapeseed ( Brassica napus L.) with either (0.2 g kg −1 ) leaves (300 ppm) 5 days prior induction. were subjected at BBCH–31 for period 7 days, preceded by pretreatment 2 (200 μM). In comparison, untreated showed significant reduction growth, nutrient uptake, photosynthetic activity, sugar content but an increase antioxidant defense system. However, application significantly mitigated adverse effects comparison control, soil‐S exhibited higher than increasing plant resistance, as reflected improved dry weight (+50%), photosynthesis (+12%), stomatal conductance (+40%), magnesium (+59%), hydrogen peroxide (−22%) lipid peroxidase (−26%). also catalase (+43%), glutathione reductase (+17%), ascorbate (+47%), (+39%), (+40%) contents, contrast waterlogged plants. underlines potential effective agents alleviate
