Lagerstroemia indica L. is a well-known ornamental plant with large pyramidal racemes, long flower duration, and diverse colors cultivars. It has been cultivated for nearly 1600 years essential investigating the germplasm assessing genetic variation to support international cultivar identification breeding programs. In this study, 20 common cultivars from different varietal groups morphologies, as well multiple wild relative species, were analyzed investigate maternal donor of discover relationships among based on plastome nuclear ribosomal DNA (nrDNA) sequences. A total 47 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) 24 insertion/deletions (indels) identified in cultivars' 25 SNPs nrDNA. Phylogenetic analysis sequences showed that all formed clade species indica, indicating was Population structure PCA analyses supported two clades cultivars, which exhibited significant differences according dataset. Leonurus japonicus, a significant medicinal plant known for its therapeutic effects on gynecological and cardiovascular diseases, has genetic diversity that forms the basis germplasm preservation utilization in medicine. Despite economic value, limited research focused divergence. The avg. nucleotide of 59 accessions from China were 0.00029 hotspot regions petN-psbM rpl32-trnL(UAG) spacers, which can be used genotype discrimination. These divided into four clades with divergence. The subclades, split at approximately 7.36 Ma, likely influenced by Hengduan Mountains uplift global temperature drop. initial divergence gave rise to Clade D, crown age estimated 4.27 followed C, 3.39 Ma. not showed clear spatial distribution. Pinus tabuliformis var. henryi (Mast.) C.T.Kuan 1983 is an endemic and rare subtropical pine, mainly distributed in central China. In this study, we sequenced the complete chloroplast (cp) genome of P. reported it for first time. The cp was 119,634 base pairs (bp) total length, including two inverted repeats (IRs, 495 bp), separated by a large single-copy region (LSC, 65,600 bp) small (SSC, 53,044 bp). There are 114 different genes henryi, 74 protein-coding genes, 36 transfer RNA four ribosomal genes. overall GC content 38.5%. Our phylogenetic analysis demonstrated that closely related to could be used identify analyze its genetic diversity, which expected provide new data taxonomic studies Pinus.

Abstract Jujube ( Ziziphus jujuba Mill.), renowned for its nutritional value and health benefits, is believed to have originated in the middle lower reaches of Yellow River China, where it underwent domestication from wild jujube. Nonetheless, evolutionary trajectory species differentiation between jujube cultivated still require further elucidation. The chloroplast genome (plastome), characterized by relatively mutation rate compared nuclear genome, serves as an excellent model comparative genomic research. In this study, we analyzed 326 nonredundant plastomes, encompassing 133 cultivars 193 genotypes distributed throughout China. Noteworthy variations large single copy region primarily account size differences among these impacting evolution varieties. Horizontal gene transfer (HGT) unveiled a unique chloroplast‐to‐nucleus event, with transferred fragments predominantly influencing while leaving plastome unaffected. Population genetics analysis revealed two distinct pathways jujube: one driven natural selection minimal human interference, other resulting cultivation. Molecular dating, based on phylogenetic analysis, supported likelihood that fall within same taxonomic category, Z. . summary, our study comprehensively examined structures HGT events, simultaneously contributing novel insights into intricate processes govern species.

Abstract The Malvaceae family, comprising 9 subfamilies and 4,225 species, includes economically significant taxa, such as Ceiba pentandra , Gossypium ekmanianum stephensii Kokia drynarioides Talipariti hamabo Durio zibethinus . Chloroplast (cp) genome research is crucial for elucidating the evolutionary divergence species identification within this family. In study, we assembled annotated cp genomes of six conducting comprehensive comparative genomic phylogenomic analyses. range from 160,495 to 163,970 bp in size, with 125–129 genes annotated. Notable differences were observed IR (inverted repeat) regions, SSR analysis revealed that has highest number specific variation sites. Among uniquely exhibits more palindromic repeats than forward repeats. Seven highly mutated regions identified, offering potential markers identification. Phylogenetic reconstruction using maximum likelihood method two primary clades Malvaceae: Byttneriina Malvadendrina. Within Malvadendrina, subfamily Helicteroideae represents earliest divergence, followed by Sterculioideae. This study provides a robust phylogenetic framework valuable insights into classification history species.

Abstract Background Quercus aliena is a major montane tree species of subtropical and temperate forests in China, with important ecological economic value. In order to reveal the species’ population dynamics, genetic diversity, structure, association mountain habitats during evolutionary process, we re-sequenced genomes 72 Q. individuals. Results The whole chloroplast nuclear were used for this study. Phylogenetic analysis using genome dataset supported four clades , while three clades. Sex-biased dispersal had critical role causing discordance between genomes. Population structure showed two groups aliena. effective size sharply declined 1 Mya, coinciding Poyang Glaciation Eastern China. Using genotype–climate analyses, found positive correlation allele frequency variation SNPs temperature, suggesting has capacity adapt changing temperatures. Conclusion Overall, study illustrates divergence, genomic variation, processes behind demographic history .
