Further, it would seem researchers prioritize date-model-fit over measurement quality. To address these analytical challenges, more innovative robust approaches toward validation evaluation required to enhance discipline's advance science. Exploratory Structural Equation Modeling (ESEM) has recently emerged as a promising alternative overcome some challenges by incorporating best elements from exploratory- confirmatory analyses. ESEM still relatively novel approach, estimating models in statistical software packages can be complex tedious. Therefore, purpose this paper provide novice with practical tutorial on how estimate convenient online tool for Mplus. Specifically, we aim demonstrate use through an illustrative example using instrument: Mental Health Continuum-SF. By MHC-SF example, (a) brief overview (and different models/approaches), (b) guidelines estimate, compare, report, interpret ESEM, (c) step-by-step run analyses Mplus De Beer Van Zy syntax generator. The results study highlight value above traditional approaches. also implications measuring mental health MHC-SF, illustrating bifactor Model fits data significantly better than any other theoretical model.
