Studies suggest that adolescents reported more eating problems during the pandemic. Using a population-based sample, we compared problems-and how they associate with range of personal characteristics and genetic factors-among before (June 2017-April 2020) versus (April 2020-December 2022) Based on preregistered analysis plan, used cross-sectional data collected from 22,706 14-16-year-olds over 6 years (55% pandemic) in Norwegian Mother, Father, Child Cohort. We measurement invariance analyses to compare level restraint body concern pandemic, multi-group structural equation models estimate pre-pandemic pandemic patterns associations. Pandemic responders generally than responders, specifically dieting dissatisfaction. However, after adjusting for general linear increase across all collection, itself seems be associated only among girls, reporting restraints (meanΔ = 0.14 [CI: 0.07, 0.20]) 0.17 0.11, 0.23]). Associations between other did not differ groups. There was time. Adjusting this trend, exacerbate girls. Although mechanisms are unclear, our results point factors susceptible change could have been intensified (e.g., screen time, mental distress). Our highlight importance recognizing sex-specific differences problems.
