Background To date, the United States (US) leads world in number of infections and deaths due to Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). Racial ethnic disparities COVID-19 morbidity mortality are staggering. Age-adjusted data show that AA Latino individuals have had higher rates death over most pandemic during surges. Project 2VIDA! is community-based participatory research (CBPR) was developed address individual, social, contextual factors related access acceptance vaccine among African American communities Southern California. This paper describes study protocol overarching objectives. Methods design a multilevel intervention builds on principals CBPR designed increase uptake (≥16 years older) San Diego County. Social and economic inequality are chronic stressors that continually erode the mental physical health of marginalized groups, undermining overall societal resilience. In this comprehensive review, we synthesize evidence greater increases in symptoms during COVID-19 pandemic among socially or economically groups United States, including (a) people who low income experiencing homelessness, (b) racial ethnic minorities, (c) women lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning (LGBTQ+) communities, (d) immigrants migrants, (e) children with a history childhood adversity, (f) isolated lonely. Based on evidence, propose reducing social would promote population resilience to future crises. Specifically, concrete, actionable recommendations for policy, intervention, practice bolster five "pillars" resilience: (1) safety equity, (2) accessible healthcare, services, (3) combating injustice promoting respect diversity, inclusion, (4) child family protection (5) cohesion.
