Internet gaming behaviors are common among adolescents in the modern era. The present study aimed to examine associations internet disorder (IGD) symptoms, low self-control, meaning life (MIL), school commitment, and family functioning 2,064 Chinese ethnic minority (46.9% females, mean age = 14.6 years), who were recruited from five middle schools Sichuan, China 2022. Direct indirect effects of self-control MIL on commitment via IGD symptoms analyzed structural equation modeling (SEM). All scales showed satisfactory model fit scalar measurement invariance by gender. sample displayed relatively few symptoms. Males significantly greater lower levels than females. Impulsivity, temper, search for meaning, presence associated with There significant impulsivity, Multigroup SEM across gender found that positive association between existed males but not Presence negatively moderated impulsivity findings support a mediating role relationships buffering adolescents. results have implications targeted interventions help meaning.

Abstract Background Depression and anxiety symptoms among medical students are often a concern. The Patient Health Questionnaire-Four (PHQ-4), an important tool for depression screening, is commonly used easy to administer. This study aimed assess update the longitudinal measurement invariance psychometric properties of simplified Chinese version. Methods A three-wave survey was conducted healthcare using PHQ-4. Structural validity based on one-factor, two-factor, second-order factor models, construct Self-Rated Questionnaire (SRHQ), Sleep Quality (SQQ), Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES), (LMI), internal consistency, test–retest reliability were structural consistency across three time points. Results results confirmatory analysis indicated that two-factor model best fit, LMI supported at Inter-factor, factor-total, correlations PHQ-4 acceptable. Additionally, Cronbach’s alpha, McDonald’s omega, intraclass correlation coefficient demonstrated acceptable/moderate excellent Conclusions adds new evidence version has promising properties. Such data lends confidence routine expanded use screening in students.

To assess the psychometric properties of simplified Chinese version Nonrestorative Sleep Scale (NRSS) in young adults and examine measurement invariance across language age. After cognitive debriefing, NRSS was administered to university students mainland China this cross-sectional survey (Study 1). The Pittsburgh Quality Index (PSQI), Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-4), sociodemographic characteristics were also self-reported. sample randomly split into two halves scale structure using exploratory factor analysis (EFA) asses identified by confirmatory (CFA), respectively. Incorporating data from additional studies 2: a Hong Kong adults; Study 3: adolescents), multigroup CFA models conducted age, followed t-test determine group differences once established. In 570 participants 1 (28.8% male, age 20.2 ± 1.5 years), EFA revealed four-factor structure. root mean square error approximation, comparative fit index, standardized residual model 0.053, 0.995, 0.054, statistically significant correlations with PSQI (r = − 0.61) PHQ-4 0.53) demonstrated convergent validity NRSS. internal consistency whole 0.84. Measurement concluded between traditional adolescents change index approximation smaller than 0.010. effect size (Cohen's d) difference ranged 0.193 0.771, while that 0.027 0.345. 12-item is valid reliable for assessing NRS among adults, it can be used measure compare individuals Chinese, as well different groups within user population.

Abstract Background The role of introversion and extraversion in shaping pandemic responses remains understudied the field public health. This study aimed to comprehensively investigate differences perceptions COVID-19’s impact, psychological status, knowledge COVID-19, infection rate, preferred preparations among introverts extroverts. Methods utilized a cross-sectional design. From May June 2022, an online survey was conducted, involving 1,990 adults Hong Kong. Regression analyses were employed identify personality across 58 outcomes interest. To account for multiplicity, adjustments made using Holm-Bonferroni method. Results Extroverts reported greater increase having meal at home ( adjusted p [adj.p] < 0.001), while introverts’ sleep quality decreased more adj.p 0.001). Although no statistical difference detected between decrease they showed emotional stress = 1.000) mental burden 1.000), had higher levels anxiety 0.006), depression fear 0.026), whereas extroverts stronger out control feelings 0.010). Besides, self-rated on COVID-19 0.016) prevention Moreover, perceived importance consultation with doctors, instant personalized health by chatbot, courses, streaming medicine delivery, shopping, food delivery (all 0.05). Conclusions Introverts could benefit most from interventions addressing quality, anxiety, depression, fear, promotion about approaches that address feeling control. preferences consultations, via chatbots, emphasizing considering telemedicine, e-health, remote practice. Using the large Rome Foundation Global Epidemiology Survey dataset, aim of this study was to evaluate construct and convergent validity internal consistency PHQ-4 across both gastrointestinal non-gastrointestinal condition cohorts. Another provide descriptive information about including means, confidence intervals percentage caseness using a representative sample. A cross-sectional survey conducted in 26 countries. Confirmatory factor analyses were subsamples patients with conditions (i.e., disorders gut-brain interaction [DGBI; any DGBI, individual DGBI region], gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), coeliac disease, diverticulitis, inflammatory bowel (IBD), cancer anywhere tract, peptic ulcer) those without condition. Convergent also assessed via series Pearson's correlation coefficients PROMIS (physical mental quality life), PHQ-12 (somatisation). Based on 54,127 participants (50.9% male; mean age 44.34 years) confirmatory analysis indicated acceptable excellent model fits for all region (Comparative Fit Index >0.950, Tucker-Lewis Root Mean Squared Error Approximation <0.05, Standardised Square Residual <0.05). The found demonstrate (Pearson's >±0.4), good (Cronbach's α > 0.75). This provides evidence that is valid reliable tool assessing health symptomology
