Abstract
Purpose
of
Review
The
early
detection
problematic
Internet
use
(PIU)
is
essential
to
prevent
the
development
disorders
(IUD).
Although
a
variety
screening
tools
have
already
been
developed
and
validated
for
this
purpose,
yet
consensus
about
optimal
IUD
assessment
still
lacking.
In
systematic
review,
we
(i)
describe
identified
instruments
children
adolescents,
(ii)
critically
examine
their
psychometric
properties,
(iii)
derive
recommendations
particularly
well-validated
instruments.
Recent
Findings
We
conducted
literature
search
in
five
databases
on
January
15,
2024.
Of
initial
11,408
references
identified,
511
studies
were
subjected
full-text
analysis
resulting
final
inclusion
70
studies.
These
total
31
PIU
IUD,
including
Diagnostic
Interview
Addiction
(DIA),
semi-structured
interview.
terms
validation
frequency,
Addition
Test
(IAT)
had
largest
evidence
base,
followed
by
Compulsive
Use
Scale
(CIUS).
Only
two
measures
examined
based
current
DSM-5
criteria
Gaming
Disorder.
Summary
no
instrument
was
found
be
clearly
superior,
strongest
recommendation

CIUS,
Generalized
Problematic
