BACKGROUND The pursuit of sleep quality has become an important aspect people’s global quest for overall health. However, the objective neurobiological features corresponding to subjective perceptions remain poorly understood. Although previous studies have investigated relationship between electroencephalogram (EEG) and sleep, lack longitudinal follow-up raises doubts about reproducibility their findings. OBJECTIVE Currently, there is a gap in research regarding stable associations EEG data assessed through multiple collection sessions, which could help identify potential targets related quality. METHODS In this study, we used portable device collect resting-state prefrontal cortex over 3-month period from 42 participants (27 first month, 25 second 40 third month). Each participants’ was using Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) estimate recent RESULTS We found that significant consistent positive correlation low α band activity PSQI scores (<i>r</i>=0.45, <i>P</i>&lt;.001). More importantly, remained across all recordings (<i>P</i>&lt;.05), regardless whether considered same cohort or expanded sample size. The diagnosis of major depressive disorder (MDD) is commonly based on the subjective evaluation by experienced psychiatrists using clinical scales. Hence, it particularly important to find more objective biomarkers aid in and further treatment. Alpha-band activity (7-13 Hz) most prominent component resting electroencephalogram (EEG), which also thought be a potential biomarker. Recent studies have shown existence multiple sub-oscillations within alpha band, with distinct neural underpinnings. However, specific contribution these treatment MDD remains unclear. In this study, we recorded resting-state EEG from HC populations both open closed-eye state conditions. We assessed cognitive processing MATRICS Consensus Cognitive Battery (MCCB). found that group showed significantly higher power high range (10.5–11.5 lower low (7–8.5 compared group. Notably, negatively correlated working memory performance MCCB, whereas no such correlation was Furthermore, five established classification algorithms, discovered combining oscillations MCCB scores as features yielded highest accuracy or alone. Our results demonstrate frequency band When combined psychological scales, they may provide guidance relevant for MDD.

In recent years, brainprint recognition has emerged as a novel method of personal identity verification. Although studies have demonstrated the feasibility this technology, some limitations hinder its further development into society, such insufficient efficiency (extended wear time for multi-channel EEG cap), complex experimental paradigms (more in learning and completing experiments), unclear neurobiological characteristics (lack intuitive biomarkers an inability to eliminate impact noise on individual differences). Overall, these are due incomplete understanding underlying neural mechanisms. Therefore, study aims investigate mechanisms behind brainwave simplify operation process. We recorded prefrontal resting-state data from 40 participants, which is followed up over nine months using single-channel portable device. found that devices can effectively stably capture different subjects alpha band (8-13Hz) long periods, well capturing their differences (no peak, 1 or 2 peaks). Through correlation analysis, alpha-band activity reveal uniqueness compared others within one minute. used descriptive model dissect oscillatory non-oscillatory components band, demonstrating contributions fine features (especially amplitude bandwidth). Alpha oscillations are associated with various psychiatric disorders, many studies focusing on the prefrontal cortex, where transcranial alternating current stimulation (TACS) is applied in alpha frequency band. This approach often involves selecting individualized frequencies to resonate their endogenous oscillations. While strong (8–13 Hz) typically induced when eyes closed, they can also occur during resting state open. However, it remains unclear whether these share a common neural generation mechanism. Exploring which of more suitable as stable peak question significant interest. Therefore, systematically study this issue, we specifically collected resting-state electroencephalographic (EEG) data from region 40 individuals, under both eyes-open and closed- eye conditions, multiple follow-ups extending up nine months. Through spectral analysis each person's entire dataset averaging results, observed positive correlation between alpha-band power eyes-closed states, terms absolute relative power. Abstract Romantic relationships are integral to human experience, with most individuals encountering them at some point in their lives. The neural mechanisms of romantic have gradually gained attention. However, existing studies mainly focused on the cross-sectional level, and longitudinal research is not sufficient, especially regarding early stages when couples first enter a relationship. brain's transition from normal state honeymoon phase love remains poorly understood. To answer this question, we, authors, used ourselves as subjects; after confirming our relationship, we employed portable electroencephalography (EEG) record activity prefrontal cortex during resting states (both eyes open closed). Data collection occurred irregularly over period around two months, resulting 13 EEG data trials per individual. We found that there was consistent decrease high alpha band under closed-eye for both us two-month period, suggesting potential correlation changes stage Further analysis revealed driven by periodic components rather than non-periodic components. This study reveal significant change oscillatory couple initial months which will further impact understanding mechanism sub-oscillations application emotions process.

ABSTRACT Aim Long‐term moderate‐ to high‐intensity exercise has been shown significantly enhance overall health such as the improvement of physiological indicators and brain functions. One key aspect activity is alpha‐band activity, which encompasses various sub‐oscillations within alpha frequency band. However, precise functions these following different regimens remain unclear. Methods We recruited 58 healthy college students divided them into four groups: Pamela (high‐intensity interval training, HIIT), yoga (moderate‐intensity continuous MICT), their corresponding matched control group (no exercise) for each intervention group. Participants in groups underwent training up 8 weeks (HIIT or MICT). Resting‐state EEG data were collected before after both with eyes open closed. Results Following HIIT, experienced a significant reduction body fat percentage notable increase skeletal muscle mass. In terms neural main difference was observed mid‐frequency range frontoparietal region during eyes‐open resting state. Conversely, 8‐week participants demonstrated duration maintaining balance sleep quality, reflected low‐ high‐frequency band activities bilateral frontotemporal regions eyes‐closed Conclusion This study, first time, differentiates effects long‐term on oscillation states, highlights that sub‐frequency bands would represent exercise‐related
