BACKGROUND The pursuit of sleep quality has become an important aspect people’s global quest for overall health. However, the objective neurobiological features corresponding to subjective perceptions remain poorly understood. Although previous studies have investigated relationship between electroencephalogram (EEG) and sleep, lack longitudinal follow-up raises doubts about reproducibility their findings. OBJECTIVE Currently, there is a gap in research regarding stable associations EEG data assessed through multiple collection sessions, which could help identify potential targets related quality. METHODS In this study, we used portable device collect resting-state prefrontal cortex over 3-month period from 42 participants (27 first month, 25 second 40 third month). Each participants’ was using Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) estimate recent RESULTS We found that significant consistent positive correlation low α band activity PSQI scores (<i>r</i>=0.45, <i>P</i>&lt;.001). More importantly, remained across all recordings (<i>P</i>&lt;.05), regardless whether considered same cohort or expanded sample size. Furthermore, discovered periodic component primarily contributed association with PSQI. CONCLUSIONS These findings represent identification reliable target sessions. Our results provide solid foundation future applications devices monitoring screening disorders broad population.

Background The reemergence of the monkeypox epidemic has aroused great concern internationally. Concurrently, COVID-19 is still ongoing. It essential to understand temporal dynamics in 2022 and its relationship with epidemic. In this study, we aimed explore dynamic characteristics human those Methods We used publicly available data cumulative cases at beginning 2020 for model validation further analyses. time series were fitted a descriptive using sigmoid function. Two important indices (logistic growth rate semi-saturation period) could be obtained from evaluate Results As epidemic, infection period showed negative correlation ( r = 0.47, p 0.034). also significant locations country which it occurs [latitude –0.45, 0.038)]. development did not show compared that 2022. When comparing monkeypox, significantly longer was observed while larger found 2020. Conclusions This novel study investigates ongoing provide more appropriate guidance local governments plan implement fit-for-purpose prevention policies.

Introduction Meteorological and environmental factors can affect people’s lives health, which is crucial among the older adults. However, it currently unclear how they specifically physical condition of adults people. Methods We collected analyzed basic examination indicators 41 people for two consecutive years (2021 2022), correlated them with meteorological factors. Partial correlation was also conducted to exclude unrelated as well. Results found that years, five (HB, WBC, HbAlc, CB, LDL-C) showed significant differences across population, had significantly different dynamic patterns six (air pressure, temperature, humidity, precipitation, wind speed, sunshine duration) seven air quality (NO2, SO2, PM10, O3-1h, O3-8h, CO, PM2.5). Discussion Our study has discovered first time between in normal examinations indicators, will provide guidance future development policies care healthy life

Abstract In mainland China, most infectious diseases occur once a year, except for scarlet fever, which has been steadily breaking out twice year in recent years. Over the years, recurrence of contagious disease characterized by distinctive red rash, focus attention. However, oscillatory mechanism fever remains unclear. This study aimed to uncover how meteorological factors contribute recrudescence China. The used longitudinal public dataset covering 31 provinces containing 14 years monthly infections, along with available local data. Power spectrum analysis was conducted on time series data, and correlation analyses were performed assess relationship between nature epidemics factors. We found that generally various timing these outbreaks’ peaks progressively from southern northern regions. Furthermore, we established an atlas shows oscillation Our findings indicated significant characteristics 50% each natural factor. presents detailed description temporal spatial changes first explores conditions their number infections. These could serve as valuable guide government prevention control measures epidemic.

Abstract Intracranial infection (ICI) is a frequent and serious complication after neurosurgery. Macrogenome next-generation sequencing (mNGS) technology can provide reference for clinical diagnosis treatment of ICI. This work aimed to explore the application value mNGS in analyzing characteristics human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) ICI A total 60 patients with were enrolled as research objects, all underwent routine cerebrospinal fluid analysis traditional pathogen detection, followed by genome analysis. Using gold standard, sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative both detection methods calculated. Receiver operating characteristic curves constructed assess area under curve (AUC) evaluating suspected intracranial infectious diagnosis. Results showed positivity rate 71.67% (43 cases) compared 28.33% (17 methods, demonstrating significant difference ( P < 0.05). The sensitivity detecting ICIs was 83.7%, significantly higher than 34.88% observed = 0.002), an AUC 0.856 (95% CI: 0.638–0.967), greater 0.572 0.350–0.792) successfully identified microorganisms such Cryptococcus , Propionibacterium Staphylococcus Corynebacterium Micrococcus Candida associated ICIs. These findings underscore applicability HIV post-neurosurgical procedures. enables more accurate ICIs, providing valuable insights developing effective therapeutic strategies.
