Rural Revitalization (RR) is a key national strategy in China aimed at sustainable rural development and has gained significant attention. Given the unique characteristics of different villages, understanding differentiated paths to achieve RR essential. This study introduces new "5I Framework" (INDUS-INHAB-INDOC-INFRA-INCOM) assess RR's overall status (ODS) paths. Then, using western as case, this employs entropy weight, technique for order preference by similarity an ideal solution (TOPSIS), fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA), hierarchical clustering categorize into "4L Category" (Lots-Learning-Labor-Living). Context-specific recommendations are provided each category. "5I" "4L" derived from their initial letters easier recall global dissemination. Our findings reveal ODS's temporal fluctuations between Acceptable Good Grades (0.3 0.6), with Chongqing's villages showing downward trend (from 0.439 0.407); also spatial differences ODS, northern generally score higher due distinct characteristics. Seven identified, highlighting varying dimensions essential success: INFRA crucial across all high ODS paths, while INHAB INDOC not always central. Besides, these grouped four clusters via clustering, indicating that can be achieved integrating "lots" aspects, enhancing "learning" cultural among residents, requiring villagers' "labor" support agriculture, or improving "living" environment. The clustered categories enhance applicability our proposed countermeasures similar contexts. facilitates theoretical evaluation RR, underpinned promotes effective implementation practices—both representing innovations study.

With the advancement of urbanization and continuous deepening reforms in urban–rural systems, China’s process has entered a new era integrated integration. Currently, as global “new green revolution” gains momentum, numerous countries are deeply integrating concept sustainable development into urban planning. Against this backdrop, planners worldwide committed to building green, livable, smart cities that can meet needs present generation without compromising ability future generations their needs, thus achieving vision harmonious coexistence between humanity nature. Characteristic towns, leveraging resource advantages, play significant role regional economic development. They serve valuable references for transformation upgrading, well promoting rural urbanization, crucial avenues advancing integration strategy. The evaluation level characteristic towns is necessary step progress strong guarantee construction Therefore, effectively evaluating social benefits paramount. This study constructs an model based on grey rough set theory Technique Order Preference by Similarity Ideal Solution TOPSIS. Firstly, index system established. Then, relational analysis method used reduce attributes, while conditional information entropy introduced determine weights reduced indicators. Finally, TOPSIS applied evaluate towns. Through empirical research, eight Zhejiang Province, China, were assessed ranked, verifying effectiveness feasibility proposed model.

There is limited analysis of the role tourism in rural revitalization (RR) from a high-quality development perspective. To address this gap, study analyzes spatiotemporal patterns and coupling coordination degree (CCD) (THD) RR Silk Road Economic Belt 2011 to 2020 using gravity models. A geographic detector employed quantitatively elucidate factors influencing CCD. The findings are as follows. (1) comprehensive level increased 86% 2020, whereas THD first then decreased. southwest region outperformed northwest levels. (2) CCD between displayed various degrees increase, with spatial pattern higher levels lower northwest. linkage strength decreased, tighter linkages among southwestern provinces. (3) Public fiscal expenditure, per capita GDP, science education spending significantly affected In conclusion, effective requires focus on their characteristics joint regulation multiple factors.
