Monitoring fish health in a repeatable and accurate manner can contribute to the profitability sustainability of aquaculture. Haematological blood biochemistry parameters have been powerful tools becoming increasingly common aquaculture studies. Fish growth is closely related its status. A with higher rate more likely be healthy one. Any change physiological status fish, from pollution nutritional stress, cause changes parameters. Various studies measured following components: red cells, white haemoglobin, haematocrit, total protein. However, because these do not always follow same trend across experimental it difficult draw firm conclusion about which parameter should considered. Therefore, Blood Performance (BP) as new formula introduced, reliable indicator. This simple sums up natural logarithm five above-mentioned More than 90 published peer-reviewed articles that last six years confirmed reliability validity this formula. Regardless supplements were added diets, had BP well. In addition, 44 out 53 articles, there was significant positive correlation between specific BP. Under different stressful situations, thermal under stress lower control. meal oil replacement further evidence for showed adding excessive alternative proteins decreased along conclusion, indicator when compared groups experiment or farm. Although BP, comparing experiments recommended. Standardising haematological assays improve accuracy experiments.

Temperature plays a profound role in organismal growth, immunity, survival, and the entire biological systems of any aquatic species. Suboptimal temperature changes modify different traits fish that adversely affect their life cycle aquaculture productivity. The freshwater Indian major carp, Rohu (Labeo rohita), is one most important species across Sub-continent, with optimum range 28 °C to 32 °C. This study tested effects five levels (28 °C, 30 33 34 °C) on selected physiological biochemical traits, also expression targeted genes L. rohita. Experimental temperatures significantly affected growth performance (mean body weight) (p < 0.05), highest survival observed at lowest level were obtained possibly due thermal stress, despite O2 consumption rate total blood cell counts found this temperature. A lower (P 0.05) was (control) compared target including hormone (GH) insulin like factor I (IGF-I) as regulatory genes, glycerol-3-phosphatase (G-3-P) Gherlin (as metabolic genes), heat shock protein 70 (HSP70 stress response gene), showed variable varying temperatures. whereas gene Results indicate can perform well up without adverse effects, optimal production occurring between further implies appropriate measures must be place maintain farms such physically manipulating system control or through development temperate tolerant strains order avoid potential negative consequences climate change.

Abstract Farmed fish are a promising source of high‐quality and sustainable protein. However, the production farmed products that meet food safety standards is one major public health challenges worldwide. Therefore, management in farms has recently garnered increasing attention. detection parameters currently lacking. Haematology, an approach widely used humans, provides reliable assessment status non‐lethal low‐cost way. Nevertheless, comprehensive, systemic standard haematological have not yet been established fish. Here, we provide summary recent advancements haematology indicators Generally, based on physiological biochemical indices blood. De novo reference intervals (RIs) for a total of thirty two hematological and serum biochemical attributes were established rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) cultured in Himalayan aquaculture system. For this purpose, long term assessment hemato-biochemical parameters was carried over period one year from March 2019 to February 2020 444 blood samples analysed. Blood examination results recorded systematically established, notably erythrocyte parameters: hematocrit (Hct) 29-40%, hemoglobin 8.32-12.28 g/dL, red cell (RBC) count 1.01-2.04 (×106/mm3); leukocyte (x 103/mm3): leukocytes 31.32-90.60, neutrophils 4.21-18.85, lymphocytes 20.55-63.63, small 14.86-46.50, large 6.35-22.34 monocytes 1.22-7.56; thrombocyte 23.00-68.00 (×106/mm3). RIs also indices, vital constituents involved carbohydrate, protein, lipid nitrogen metabolism including the less known, diagnostically important, enzymes electrolyte concentrations. Principal component analysis revealed that certain components more efficient at distinguishing between life stages (juvenile, adult) fish by explaining about 92.7% variation whole dataset compared principal which explained only 80% variation. Significant (P < 0.05) differences noted RBC count, (TLC), cholesterol uric acid with respect sex fish. Moreover, clearly differentiable morphometric morphological noticed among erythrocytes, (lymphocytes, monocytes) thrombocytes. Three hundred fishes were used distributed three treatments with four replications; each treatment consisted 100 fishes, replicate included 25. The first control (C), represented by raising fish regular ponds, second farming novelty ponds shape H sign (ND). third earthen (EP). statistical analysis findings demonstrated that ND significantly improved condition.
