Hematological analysis is commonly used to assess the physiological state of fish. It includes red blood cell parameters, white and number thrombocytes per volume unit. one basic tools (often accompanied by biochemical histopathological analyses) influence organic inorganic substances on is, therefore, applicable in both ecotoxicology pharmacotoxicology. The advantages this research method are lack need for specialized laboratory equipment low costs, limitations extensive experience among personnel performing tests. One recommended methods supplementing routinely determined hematological parameters assessing cellular composition activity hematopoietic tissue. As there very little scientific data available issue effects xenobiotics structure fish head kidney tissue, filling gap should be considered an urgent need. Therefore, we recommend conducting with simultaneous use as reliable complementary impact toxic

The study examined the potential of Silymarin, a blend bioactive flavonolignans extracted from milk thistle Silybum marianum, to mitigate Deltamethrin-induced toxicity in blood Cyprinus carpio. Fish were exposed Deltamethrin (0.66 μg/L), plant extract, or combination both for duration thirty days. Various parameters, including serum biochemical markers, erythrocytic abnormalities, and genotoxicity endpoints, assessed. Results indicated significant (p < 0.05) increase levels AST, ALT, ALP, urea nitrogen, creatinine, glucose, cholesterol, TLC fish pesticide. Conversely, total protein, TEC, Hb showed notable decrease. There was also rise micronuclei abnormalities such as acanthocytes, microcytes, notched cells. Under ultrastructural examination, phenotypic deformities like spherocytosis, discocytes, clumped erythrocytes observed. However, dietary supplementation silymarin (1 g/kg) significantly restored biochemical, genetic, cellular resembling those control group. This suggests this extract protecting common carp, carpio, damage by scavenging free radicals reducing DNA oxidative stress.

Abstract Background The inappropriate use of pesticides including fungicides creates severe biological hazards that can endanger fish health and impede sustainable aquaculture. Objective This study investigated the negative impacts metiram (MET), a fungicide on status Nile tilapia ( Oreochromis niloticus ) for 96-hour duration as an acute exposure in static renewal system. Methods Three hundred (average body weight: 37.50 ± 0.22 g) were assigned into six groups (50 fish/group) with five replicates (10 fish/replicate). Fish exposed to various concentrations (0, 1.5, 3, 4.5, 6, 7.5 mg/L) MET water without exchange. fish’s behavior, clinical signs, mortalities documented every day period. Additionally, MET’s impact blood profile, stress biomarkers, hepato-renal functions, immune-antioxidant status, brain biomarker closely monitored. Results lethal concentration (LC 50 estimated using Finney’s probit technique was 3.77 mg/L. behavior severely impacted by exposure, clear increase surfacing, loss equilibrium, unusual swimming, laterality, abnormal movement, decline aggressive behaviors. survivability hematological indices (white red cell count, differential white hematocrit value, hemoglobin) significantly reduced concentration-dependent manner following exposure. Acute (1.5–7.5 incrementally increased biomarkers (nor-epinephrine, cortisol, glucose), lipid peroxides (malondialdehyde), oxidative DNA damage (8-hydroxy-2-deoxyguanosine). A dysfunction (4.5–7.5 evidenced significant alanine aspartate aminotransferases creatinine values. Moreover, substantial immune parameters (lysozyme, complement serum bactericidal activity, antiprotease activity) antioxidant variables (total capacity, superoxide dismutase, glutathione peroxidase) resulted from Conclusion According these findings, LC triggered toxicity tilapia, seen alterations neuro-behaviors, functioning, signifying physiological disturbances. emphasizes potential ecological dangers provoked environmental contaminant aquatic systems. However, long-term is still needed be investigated.
