Abstract The identification of different morphometric patterns spermatozoa serves as a basis for improving our understanding the diversity in an ejaculate and to relate them potential fertility males. In this study, we aimed examine semen subpopulation structure, following dilution extenders, using mathematical approach possible application analyses. Ten sexually mature Bos taurus bulls were randomly allotted one three groups: (1) Tris–citric acid–egg yolk extender (Tris‐EY); (2) commercial egg OptiXcell® (3) Triladyl®. results showed significant differences ( p < .05) between extenders terms values head size shape variables individual sperm, indicating influence composition. Sperm width was found significantly differ according extender, decreasing order: OptiXcell ® (4.836 ± 0.017 μm), Triladyl (4.695 0.012 μm) Tris‐EY (4.638 0.010 μm). Principal component analysis allowed us identify two subpopulations , each Tris‐EY. Overall, observed sperm within .05), with bovine species that can be related functionality capabilities.

This study analyzed the effect of boar semen storage and dilution rate on sperm motility, swimming patterns kinematics. It used 35 sexually mature, healthy boars, with an average age 19.0 ± 10.34 months known fertility. Samples were separated into four treatments according to ratio (1:1, 1:4, 1:8 1:16; v:v) Androstar Plus® refrigerated at 17°C in dark for 96 h. Subsamples 12, 24, 28, 72 h using ISAS®v1 Computer-Assisted Semen Analysis System (CASA). Total progressive motility decreased (P < 0.05) as time increased. The percentage morphological abnormalities increased after 48 storage. diluted 1:1 (v:v) had higher values total faster spermatozoa compared other rates. was concluded that plasma membrane integrity showed a significant downward pattern
