This
study
aimed
to
characterize
the
sperm
kinematic
values
with
high
frames
per
second,
define
subpopulation
structure
of
a
horse
and
donkey
compare
them.
A
total
57
fresh
semen
ejaculates
(26
Spanish
16
Arabian
breeds
10
donkeys)
were
collected
subsequently
analyzed
for
parameters
using
Computer-aided
motility
analysis
ISAS®v1.2
system
Spermtrack®
10-μm
depth
counting
chamber.
Sequences
recorded
at
250
eight
automatically
evaluated.
All
showed
significant
differences
between
breeds.
evaluated

donkeys

horses

frequency.
Donkey

faster

than
horse.

frozen-thawed
sperm
for
artificial
insemination
(AI)
leads
to
low
fertility
rates.
Furthermore,
donkey
produce
a
large
amount
reactive
oxygen
species
(ROS),
and
post-AI
inflammation
induces
formation
neutrophil
extracellular
traps
(NETosis),
which
further
generates
many
more
ROS.
These
high
ROS
levels
may
induce
lipid
peroxidation
in
plasma
membrane,
thus
affecting
its
integrity.
Enzymatic
non-enzymatic
antioxidants,
mainly
found
seminal
(SP),
are
responsible
maintaining
redox
balance.
However,
this
fluid
is
removed
prior
cryopreservation,
thereby
exposing
cells
oxidative
stress.

reduce
