Purpose: study and comparison of protocols for cryopreservation sperm stud rams. Every day the popularity sheep farming in Russia is increasing, since are unpretentious maintenance at same time they multiproduct animals, providing population with necessary raw materials (wool, felt) food products (meat, milk). For this reason, artificial insemination fundamental importance development branch livestock farming, an important part which correct ram sperm. There quite a few advantages using cryopreserved Cryopreservation contributes to spread use industry. Freezing technology largely ensures preservation genetic material its transportation, eliminating geographical barriers insemination, allows increasing load on sire without risk his reproductive health. However, during process cryopreservation, receives irreversible damage due cold shock, osmotic stress oxidative processes, lead decrease ability fertilize Thus, chromatin may be damaged, membrane permeability increased, hyperoxidation formation reactive oxygen species possible, affects fertilize. As result, frozen semen have low fertility. it extremely select up-to-date freezing thawing protocol maximum recovery viable functional given animal successful further insemination. Technological advances various fields biotechnology led improvements protocols, methods equipment used laboratory, positive impact reliability, accuracy procedure. This article summarizes research effects different procedures, cooling rates, times quality. In addition, Romanov breed was formed, based results our own research.

Studies revealed a global loss of genetic resources for local sheep breeds. Therefore, the current study aimed to introduce and highlight progress made on Hungary’s existing gene conservation program (small Gene Bank). Furthermore, we evaluated breed (Tsigai, Cikta, Racka), season, individual variabilities (n = 24) pre-freeze post-thaw semen stored in Bank enhance The samples were cryopreserved manually, spermatozoa analyzed motility (CASA), viability, chromatin structure, morphometry sperm nuclei. Ejaculate volume, concentration, subjective standard motility, kinematic parameters, spermatozoa’s head area deviation differed significantly among breeds (p < 0.05). Season affected ejaculate total number/ejaculate, STR, BCF, ALH. We observed significant 0.001; 0.05) season interaction VCL, LIN, WOB, average perimeter nucleus length (Tsigai Cikta but statistically same as Racka). Similarly, proportion suitable freezing. There was difference parameters viability rams across Tsigai rams. differences many quality parameters. are good quality, with more than 40% having intact membranes low abnormal condensation.

The aims of this study were to characterize the semen as well influence breed, season, and processing on spermatozoa (SPZ) traits four native Portuguese goat breeds used for bank animal germplasm (BPAG). A total 1017 ejaculates from Serrana (n = 30), Bravia 15), Charnequeira 11), Preta de Montezinho 3) bucks collected between 2004 2020 at (EZN-INIAV; 39° N) during whole year under natural conditions. All fresh cryopreserved (−196 °C) was evaluated stored in BPAG. (the smallest breed) produced less (p < 0.05) volume ejaculate than all other breeds, which higher full breeding season (September–January; p 0.05), regarding breeds. Contrarily, general, SPZ concentration lower September–January, but per remained similar > May–August September–January bucks. viability midpiece defects slightly influenced by breed head (lowest % February–April; 0.05). On contrary, freezing–thawing cycle strongly 0.01) traits. correlation coefficients these thawed low (up 0.33; 0.01), highlighting importance cryopreservation. We conclude that had a relevant effect traits, it much evident studied These goats can serve donors throughout year,

Glutathione (GSH) and melatonin (MLT) are two antioxidants that have been described as having a protective role against oxidative stress in several animal species, improving sperm quality survival after cryopreservation. Since there is no knowledge on the simultaneous use of these substances concerning its effects ram semen cryopreservation, this study aimed to evaluate MLT, GSH, or their association, vitro parameters thawing. During eight weekly sessions, from three Merino rams was pooled, divided into four aliquots, diluted with an egg yolk-based extender without (control) (MLT 1mM, GSH 5mM, MLT 1mM + 5mM). Diluted evaluated before freezing process. Supplementation fresh at 5 mM had deleterious effect total motility progressive (TPM), curvilinear velocity (VCL), straight-line (VSL), average-path (VAP), linearity (LIN), straightness (STR) increased slow spermatozoon (%). 1 also has negative TPM, VSL, STR semen. In thawed semen, TPM regarding group control. Also, combination both attenuates 5mM VSL BCF. These results indicate impairs does not improve kinetic suggest when combined plays effects.

Abstract There are fewer studies investigating the effects of underlying genetic factors related to semen characteristics, which significantly affect sheep farm profitability. This study represents first Genome-Wide Association Study (GWAS) comparing backgrounds two composite breeds with high (Hasmer) and low (Hasak) cryotolerance. To unravel background cryotolerance parameters, was collected from rams via an artificial vagina cryopreserved in 0.25 ml straws during breeding season. Quality characteristics were determined fresh, equilibrated, frozen-thawed semen. Despite identical management climatic conditions, freeze-thawing process had a more pronounced negative effect on ram traits Hasak than Hasmer. The conducted GWAS aimed unveil structure that might be attributed cryotolerance, resulting identification 27 single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) positions influencing post-thaw parameters. Moreover, network analyses revealed pathways sperm ion channels their activities, providing insights into intricate molecular mechanisms physiology emphasizing role potentially impacting functional significance detected SNPs associated requires further exploration.

This article examines the critical issues surrounding cattle diseases in Ghana and their detrimental effects on animal farming, food supply, public health. It offers a comprehensive analysis of common infections affecting Ghana's farming industry, along with proposing potential strategies to manage these health challenges. A literature search was conducted across four databases, retrieving 117 records, which 12 were included for analysis. The most widespread disease found trypanosomiasis, other such as bovine tuberculosis, coronaviruses, heartwater, parasitic worm infestations. Farmers often rely antibiotics, antiprotozoal, anthelmintics, vaccines address concerns. findings reveal that have profound effect productivity, resulting notable economic setbacks, decline availability cattle-based products. Although various diagnostic techniques are employed, it is evident there need simpler more effective tools identify treat early. study highlights continuous research develop treatments suggest development improved methods. Additionally, stresses importance implementing early detection technologies control systems reduce agricultural consequences Ghana.
