Cryopreservation is a widely used technique for long-term semen storage; however, it can induce oxidative stress, compromising sperm quality. This study examines the effect of Kaempferia parviflora (KP) supplementation in extenders on post-thaw quality Thai native bulls. Fresh was collected and evaluated motility, viability, concentration prior to cryopreservation. Semen samples were allocated four treatment groups: 0 mg/mL (control), 0.5 mg/mL, 1 1.5 KP. Subsequently, frozen, then thawed, analyzed membrane integrity, stress. The results showed that with 1.0 KP significantly improved motility (46.29 ± 2.66%) viability (43.42 2.15%) compared control (40.77 2.76% 38.63 2.66%, respectively). Membrane integrity also enhanced (47.64 1.18% vs. 41.85 1.98% control), while stress levels reduced (MDA concentration: 2.33 0.29 µM/mL 2.73 0.33 control). However, highest (1.5 KP) negatively affected quality, (36.97 3.32%), (30.88 3.02%), (35.64 1.61%). These findings suggest optimal improving cryopreservation protocols

Reproductive health is a critical determinant of livestock productivity and economic sustainability. However, it often compromised by infectious diseases, environmental stressors, nutritional deficits. Phytogenic extracts-bioactive compounds derived from medicinal plants-have emerged as sustainable alternatives to synthetic antibiotics hormones, exhibiting antimicrobial, antioxidant, immunomodulatory properties. These extracts influence key reproductive processes such follicular development, oocyte maturation, endometrial while mitigating the detrimental effects oxidative stress pathogenic infections. Recent findings suggest that phytogenic extract can enhance performance, improve quality, support pregnancy outcomes. Despite growing body evidence, optimal application strategies full breadth their biological remain insufficiently explored. This review focuses on molecular mechanisms modulated extracts, particularly in context hormone regulation, immune modulation, mitigation. We also identify knowledge gaps propose future research directions optimize use approach enhancing health.

It remains a problem to efficiently improve the boar sperm quality of liquid storage due reactive oxygen species (ROS) accumulation. To reduce effects ROS on sperm, in this study, 1 μg/mL zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO NPs) was added into extender semen during at 4°C and 17°C for 7 days. The finding revealed that motility, viability, plasma membrane integrity (PMI) acrosome significantly increased when compared with control group (P ˂ 0.05) Additionally, ZnO NPs levels adenosine triphosphate (ATP), mitochondrial potential (MMP), antioxidation abilities sperm. Moreover, could protect from oxidative stress (OS) by inhibiting ROS-induced decrease phosphorylation PKA substrates (P-PKAs). Together, current results suggest be used as novel antioxidant agent preservation, which is helpful improving application assisted reproductive technology domestic animals.

Kaempferol (KAE) is a natural flavonoid with powerful reactive oxygen species (ROS) scavenging properties and beneficial effects on ex vivo sperm functionality. In this paper, we studied the ability of KAE to prevent or ameliorate structural, functional oxidative damage frozen–thawed bovine spermatozoa. The analysis focused conventional quality characteristics prior following thermoresistance tests, namely profile semen alongside capacitation patterns, levels key proteins involved in signaling. Semen samples obtained from 30 stud bulls were frozen presence 12.5, 25 50 μM compared native ejaculates (negative control—CtrlN) as well cryopreserved absence (positive control—CtrlC). A significant post-thermoresistance test maintenance motility (p < 0.001), membrane 0.001) acrosome integrity mitochondrial activity DNA was observed supplementation all doses comparison CtrlC. Abstract Bacterial colonization of male reproductive tissues, cells, and fluids, the subsequent impact bacteria on sperm architecture, activity, fertilizing potential, has recently gained increased attention from medical scientific community. Current evidence strongly emphasizes fact that presence in semen may have dire consequences resulting fertility. Nevertheless, molecular basis underlying bacteriospermia-associated suboptimal quality is sophisticated, multifactorial, still needs further understanding. adhesion agglutination immobilization represent most direct pathway sperm–bacterial interactions. Furthermore, release bacterial toxins leukocytic infiltration, associated with a massive outburst reactive oxygen species, been repeatedly dysfunction bacteria-infested semen. This review serves as summary present knowledge subfertility. we strived to outline currently available methods for assessing profiles promising strategies prevention and/or management bacteriospermia practice.
