Heavy-metal (HM) pollution is considered a leading source of environmental contamination. in ground water poses serious threat to human health and the aquatic ecosystem. Conventional treatment technologies remove pollutants from wastewater are usually costly, time-consuming, environmentally destructive, mostly inefficient. Phytoremediation cost-effective green emerging technology with long-lasting applicability. The selection plant species most significant aspect for successful phytoremediation. Aquatic plants hold steep efficiency removal organic inorganic pollutants. Water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes), lettuce (Pistia stratiotes) Duck weed (Lemna minor) along some other prominent metal accumulator remediation heavy-metal polluted water. phytoremediation potential can be further enhanced by application innovative approaches A summarizing review regarding use gathered order present broad applicability

An increasing world population is projected to increase water, energy and food requirements, three vital resources for humankind. Projected climate change impacts will aggravate water availability, as well flood risks, especially in urban areas. Nature-based solutions (NBS) have been identified key concepts defuse the expected tensions within Water-Energy-Food (W-E-F) nexus due their multiple benefits. In this paper, authors outlined theories concepts, analyzed real-life case studies, discussed potential of NBS address future W-E-F nexus. For purpose, we performed a systematic literature review on that nexus, summarized 19 representative studies identify current knowledge gaps challenges. The quantitative qualitative data was used differentiate discuss direct indirect benefits study further expanded challenges implementation highlighted growing possibilities context circularity planning. It concluded identified, but effects not in-depth. Moreover, indicators are mostly single-purpose multipurpose, required fully characterize holistically. Overall, there need adopt systemic thinking promote multipurpose design NBS.

This study investigates the performance of large-scale ornamental treatment wetlands (TW) for municipal wastewater in municipality Nautla, Veracruz, Mexico, specifically within a contaminated estuary Gulf Mexico. The research employed wetland system that integrates mixed flow methods, including vertical subsurface (VSSF) and horizontal (HSSF), to optimize operational, maintenance, energy costs. Over monitoring period from 15 October 2022 17 September 2023, achieved remarkable efficiencies removal chemical oxygen demand (COD), NH3-N, NH4-N, NO2-N, NO3-N, total nitrogen (TN), with rates 93.37%, 93.37%,91.36%, 91.29%, 95.74%, 97.36%, 71.69%, 92.26% 91.45%, respectively. effluent complied water quality standards established by official Mexican standard NOM-001-SEMARNAT-2021, demonstrating effectiveness this TW configuration treating characterized high demand, nitrogen, phosphorus levels. results are especially relevant tropical climates, where temperatures humidity can affect microbial activity nutrient cycling, potentially enhancing reducing construction management highlights viability as sustainable solution climates provides valuable information future implementation design criteria.

Wastewater is one of the major sources pollution in aquatic environments and its treatment crucial to reduce risk increase clean water availability. Constructed wetlands (CWs) are most efficient, environmentally friendly, less costly techniques for this purpose. This review aims assess state art on use CWs removing environmental pollutants from wastewater Italy order improve current situation provide background future research development work. To evaluate performances, 76 works (2001–2023) were examined, parameters considered type treated, removed, macrophytes, kinds utilized. The pollutant removal efficiencies all reviewed showed remarkable potential, even though there biotic abiotic factor-driven performance variations among them. number articles published an increasing trend over time, indicating progress application treatment. highlighted that investigated case studies referred pilot CWs. finding suggests much more large-scale experiments should be conducted confirm potential eliminating wastewater.

Monitoring must be a basic element in oenological processes, assuring the oenologist's confidence supervision of different processes. In this article, an analysis was carried out on all works reported literature for monitoring wine parameters each phase. As described paper, artificial sensors have been developed to monitor evolution fermentation and maceration phases. Similarly, ageing phase, other authors systems colour oxygen. Within particular case biological ageing, not many developments found control it. Given scarcity field, it would necessary propose greater number studies field.
