Overexposure to ultraviolet radiation mainly leads skin disorders (erythema, burns, immunosuppression), aging, and cancer as the most serious side effect. It has been widely accepted that using sunscreen products is an important way protect against harmful effects of UV rays. Although commercial sunscreens have constantly changed improved over time, there are emerging concerns about safety conventional, organic, filters due adverse on humans (such photoallergic dermatitis, contact sensitivity, endocrine-disrupting effects, etc.) well accumulation in environment aquatic organisms. This why natural compounds increasingly being investigated used cosmetic pharmaceutical sunscreens. Some these available, non-toxic, safer for use, considerable protective properties less effects. Plant-based such flavonoids can absorb UVA UVB rays possess antioxidant, anticarcinogenic, anti-inflammatory contribute photoprotection. Apart from flavonoids, other certain vegetable oils, carotenoids, stilbenes, ferulic acid also UV-absorbing properties. vitamins might be beneficial protection their antioxidant activity. Abstract This research aims to develop an optimal hydrogel formula using Design Expert 13.0 and the Simplex Lattice (SLD) method. The combines Centella asiatica Moringa oleifera extracts with carbopol 940 as a gelling agent triethanolamine (TEA) alkalizer. Hydrogels were chosen due their ease of use, cooling effect, superior biocompatibility compared other topical formulations like ointments or creams. study focused on optimizing meet Indonesian National Standards (SNI). After eight trials SLD method, physical evaluations conducted, including organoleptic tests, pH measurements, spreadability, viscosity tests. contained 0.6% Carbopol 0.4% TEA, validated three replications. exhibited deep green color, distinctive extract aroma, thick texture, meeting SNI standards average 7.1±0.29, spreadability 5.7±0.21 cm, 20,080±0.35 cPs. Stability tests confirmed its quality after cycling centrifugal evaluations. promotes sustainable eco-friendly practices by utilizing natural extracts, reducing reliance synthetic chemicals, contributing environmentally conscious drug innovations. development such hydrogels aligns sustainability goals, offering biodegradable safe that minimize environmental impact.

Hydrogels are three-dimensional structures that replicate natural tissues' extracellular matrix (ECM). They essential for transporting exudates, gases, and moisture facilitating cellular interactions in tissue engineering wound healing. The choice of primary material designing the scaffold is necessary to be paid more attention rather than common sources, including plant fibres like cotton, bamboo, algae, as well bacterial marine-derived materials. Among them, cellulose-based polymers especially valued their biocompatibility ability promote Chronic diabetic wounds pose unique treatment challenges, such necrosis infection risks. Consequently, a growing interest incorporating bioactive molecules into hydrogels. This article investigates how these infused hydrogels enhance healing process chronic wounds, examining various loading crosslinking techniques alongside clinical applications. It also discusses benefits limitations with improve strategies.
