The preservation of heritage buildings is a crucial endeavour for countries worldwide. This study presents comprehensive bibliometric analysis the latest trends in smart applications building within context Industry 4.0 and 5.0, covering period 2020–2024. A total 216 peer-reviewed journal articles obtained from Scopus database were subjected to using RStudio VOSviewer. methodology was based on dual analysis, including surface-level examination in-depth exploration. Consequently, new conceptual framework presented achieving heritages. It structured two pillars: physical methods pillar, devices processes, digital involving technologies environments. Also, results revealed that dominant portion literature publications (61%) emphasize specific topics such as interoperability, monitoring, data management, documentation. However, training community engagement represent an insufficient fraction (2–6%), more research needed future. paper concludes by discussing future innovative vision policy industry through urging policymakers promote interoperability standards; address security; fund innovative, low-cost technologies, well advocating sectors public engagement, sustainable preservation, prioritizing skill development programs workforce.

Abstract The “Augmented Humans” term refers to the opportunity improve human possibilities by using innovative technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Extended Reality (XR). Digital therapies, particularly suitable for those treatments requiring multiple sessions, are increasingly being adopted home-based treatment, enabling continuous monitoring rehabilitation patients, thus alleviating burden on healthcare facilities facilitating remote therapy sessions follow-up visits. Among these, Mirror Therapy (MT) patients suffering from Phantom Limb Pain (PLP) could benefit greatly. This paper proposes a novel framework treatment of PLP through MT; is designed consider activities carried center, patient, system supporting treatment. Moreover, an XR-based solution that integrates Deep Learning (DL) approach has been developed provide with self-testing self-assessment tool conducting at-home independently, even in absence physical medical staff. DL algorithm enables real-time exercises automatic provision personalized feedback gesture’s performance, progressive improvement patient’s movements his ability adhere plan. technical feasibility usability proposed have evaluated 23 healthy subjects, highlighting overall positive user experience. Remarkable results were obtained terms gesture evaluation, macro averaged accuracy F1-score 95%, paving way adoption domain.

This paper investigates the emerging use of 3D generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) models, particularly Gaussian Splatting (GS), for creating immersive virtual environments in architectural heritage contexts. While traditional methods like photogrammetry have long been used to replicate historical sites, advances AI-driven tools such as Neural Radiance Fields (NeRFs) and GS significantly broadened accessibility creativity reality capture. Though both technologies explored previously conservation, their usage has always discussed through lens accuracy precision. The challenges these notions follows a phenomenological methodology that analyses visual aesthetics image-making techniques from theoretical philosophical standpoints. Through media theory, research assesses how can transform sites into experiences by combining photorealism with artistic expression. approach is twofold: first, analyzing features characteristics documenting, representing, experiencing real-life site (The Gatekeeper’s Cottage) mediums. results are captured video recordings examined section paper. Secondly, includes an in-depth overview digital artists technology evoke memory atmosphere spaces narrative building, VFX, post-production. purpose study offer architects, historians, professionals new aesthetic perspective on employing models visualization environments, challenge question reveal hidden or unobservable environments.

Background: Mandibular reconstruction has evolved significantly since its inception in the early 1900s. Currently, fibula free flap (FFF) is considered gold standard for mandibular and maxillary reconstructions, particularly extensive defects, introduction of Extended Reality (XR) virtual surgical planning (VSP) revolutionizing maxillofacial surgery. Methods: This study focuses on evaluating accuracy using in-house cutting guides with FFF supported by (VSP). Planned intraoperative osteotomies obtained from postoperative CT scans were compared 17 patients who met inclusion criteria. The proposed analysis included measurements deviation angles, thickness at centre gravity, maximum volume. Additionally, a resection coding including 12 configurations was defined to classify analyze precision investigate systematic errors. Preoperative, planned, models have been inserted an interactive VR environment, VieweR, enhance outcome analysis. Results: results proved efficiency adopting customized highlighted critical role advanced technologies such as CAD/CAM modern A novel system possible developed osteotomies. considers (1) position blade relative plane guide; (2) intersection axis between planned osteotomy mandible; (3) direction rotation around upper view model. Abstract In recent years, extended reality (XR) technology has revolutionized the cultural heritage sector by enhancing visual and spatial experiences, while evoking emotional responses that deepen users’ engagement with historical narratives. However, research on leveraging interactions in XR to improve preservation transmission of intangible remains limited. By conducting a comprehensive literature review, researchers can systematically collect, analyse, organize existing research, helping identify key issues, gaps, or trends this complex field. This review analysed 60 relevant studies investigate current applications sector. A thematic analysis was conducted examine how are facilitated through immersive experiences. Additionally, potential design methods interaction were explored. The findings reveal that, compared augmented (AR), virtual (VR), mixed (MR) received less attention. Current technologies primarily focus presenting tangible heritage, including buildings museum collections. Regarding stimulation, most utilizes interface-driven such as elements, highlighting an imbalance study interaction. There is limited exploration long-term users. Finally, suggests incorporating gamification into significantly benefit heritage. enhances our understanding facilitate sustain
