ABSTRACT Despite being classified as neurodevelopmental disorders, in recent years, there has been a growing interest the association between autism spectrum disorders (ASDs) and gut pathology. Epidemiological studies have shown a clear association between early life zinc deficiency and Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). In line with this, mouse models revealed prenatal as profound risk factor for neurobiological behavioral abnormalities in the offspring reminiscent of ASD behavior. From these studies, complex pathology emerges, alterations gastrointestinal immune system synaptic signaling brain, major consequence deficiency. The features represent critical link causal chain that leads to various neuronal dysfunctions phenotypes observed deficient (PZD) mice probably other ASD. Given complete phenotype PZD may be key understanding how non-genetic factors can modify clinical severity autistic patients explain heterogeneity, here, we summarize published data on mice. Abstract Objective The present study explored the relationship between maternal copper and zinc levels preterm labor. Design design of was a case-control. Two groups were matched in terms early-pregnancy body mass index (BMI), pregnancy childbirth rating, education level, income, employment status. Blood samples taken from mothers after meeting inclusion criteria when admitted to maternity ward check serum levels. Demographic midwifery data also collected using questionnaire patient records. analyzed SPSS26 independent-samples T-test, chi-square, Fisher exact test, regression analysis, p < 0.05 considered statistically significant. Setting Bohloul Hospital Gonabad, Iran. Participants subjects 86 pregnant women visiting hospital two cases (preterm delivery) control (term groups. Results mean level case group (44.97 ± 13.06 µg/dl) significantly lower than (term) (52.63 21.51 µg/dl), (149.82 53.13 (183.97 71.40 µg/dl). Conclusion As findings showed, with delivery term delivery, which shows biological role these elements pathogenesis delivery.
