The aim of the project was to evaluate association between selenium (Se) and zinc (Zn) levels in blood serum kidney cancer mortality. In a prospective group 284 consecutive, unselected patients with cancer, we evaluated their 10-year survival rate relation Se Zn serum. Micronutrient were measured using an inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer. Patients divided into quartiles based on distribution arranged increasing order. following variables taken account multivariable models: age at diagnosis, gender, smoking, type surgery histopathological examination results. We observed statistically significant all-cause mortality when subgroups low compared high (HR = 7.74;

Immunotherapy is among the most effective approaches for treating cancer. One of key aspects successful immunotherapy to achieve a strong and stable antitumor immune response. Modern checkpoint therapy demonstrates that cancer can be defeated. However, it also points out weaknesses immunotherapy, as not all tumors respond co-administration different immunomodulators may severely limited due their systemic toxicity. Nevertheless, there an established way through which increase immunogenicity immunotherapy-by use adjuvants. These enhance response without inducing such severe adverse effects. well-known studied adjuvant strategies improve efficacy metal-based compounds, in more modern implementation-metal-based nanoparticles (MNPs), are exogenous agents act danger signals. Adding innate activation main action immunomodulator makes capable eliciting robust anti-cancer The has peculiarity local administration drug, positively affects its safety. In this review, we will consider MNPs low-toxicity adjuvants could provide abscopal effect when administered locally.

The diagnosis and treatment of non-small cell lung cancer in clinical settings face serious challenges, particularly due to the lack integration between two processes, which limit real-time adjustments plans based on patient's condition drive-up costs. Here, we present a multifunctional pH-sensitive core-shell nanoparticle containing quercetin (QCT), termed AHA@MnP/QCT NPs, designed for simultaneous cancer. Mechanistic studies indicated that QCT Mn2+ exhibited excellent peroxidase-like (POD-like) activity, catalysing conversion endogenous hydrogen peroxide into highly toxic hydroxyl radicals through Fenton-like reaction, depleting glutathione (GSH), promoting reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation mitochondria endoplasmic reticulum, inducing ferroptosis. Additionally, could activate cGAS-STING signalling pathway promote maturation dendritic cells infiltration activated T cells, thus tumor immunogenic death (ICD). Furthermore, it effective T2-weighted MRI enhancement imaging, making them valuable diagnosis. In vitro vivo experiments demonstrated NPs enabled non-invasive imaging treatment, presented one-stone-for-two-birds strategy combining with broad potential application therapy.

Abstract A multifunctional isoniazid‐sugar–triazole based Schiff‐bases were designed and synthesized, their sensing capability was studied with various metal ions by colorimetric, absorption, spectrofluorometric techniques. Interestingly, the molecule processing diethylamine moiety ( 11 ) shows fluorescent “turn‐on” chemosensor properties in presence of Zn 2+ Mn . The limit detection (LOD) values toward respective 3.37 µM 1.46 µM, a 1:2 stoichiometric ratio, respectively. Compound successfully applied to effectively detect 2 ⁺ real water samples. Additionally, logic gate constructed, where fluorescence intensity served as output signal, responding chemical species inputs. Synthesized compounds screened for antibacterial activities against panel pathogenic bacteria, such Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes , E. coli All showed significant these pathogens. anticancer activity compound 13 investigated human osteosarcoma (HOS) cells. MTT assay results revealed that hybrid sugar derivative exhibited cytotoxicity HOS cell line, increased potency observed at concentration 60 µg/ml.

Tumor immunotherapy aims to harness the immune system identify and eliminate cancer cells. However, its full potential is hindered by immunosuppressive nature of tumors. Radiotherapy remains a key treatment modality for local tumor control immunomodulation within microenvironment. Yet, efficacy radiotherapy often limited radiosensitivity, traditional radiosensitizers have shown effectiveness in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). To address these challenges, we developed novel multifunctional nanoparticle system, ZIF-8@MnCO@DOX (ZMD), designed enhance drug delivery tissues. In microenvironment, Zn²⁺ Mn²⁺ ions released from ZMD participate Fenton-like reaction, generating reactive oxygen species (ROS) that promote cell death improve radiosensitivity. Additionally, release doxorubicin (DOX)-an anthracycline chemotherapeutic agent-induces DNA damage apoptosis The combined action metal double-stranded (dsDNA) damaged cells synergistically activates cyclic GMP-AMP synthase (cGAS)-stimulator interferon genes (STING) pathway, thereby initiating robust anti-tumor response. Both vitro vivo experiments demonstrated effectively cGAS-STING promotes responses, exerts potent tumor-killing effect combination with radiotherapy, leading regression both primary tumors distant metastases. Our work provides straightforward, safe, effective strategy combining treat advanced cancer.

Background/Objectives: Copper (Cu) and zinc (Zn) are essential trace elements, an imbalance in their levels may influence the progression of cancer. The role Cu Zn blood serum, as well 10-year survival rates kidney cancer patients, remains unclear. Our objective was to determine association between these micronutrients mortality patients. In this prospective study, we examined 284 consecutive, unselected patients assessed relation levels. Methods: Micronutrient were measured using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer. Each patient categorized into one four groups based on distribution levels, ranked increasing order. multivariable models included factors such age at diagnosis, gender, smoking history, type surgery, histopathological results. Results: We observed a significantly higher risk all-cause with highest or serum copper compared those lower (blood: HR = 4.89; p < 0.001; serum: 3.75; 0.001). With regard zinc, found trend where (I quartile) associated mortality. Additionally, identified significant correlation Zn/Cu ratio Conclusions: Patients lowest quartile had elevated hazard ratios HRs 3.05 (p 0.002) 5.72 0.001) serum. To our knowledge, study is first investigate relationship survival.
